The hotel is connected to the neighbouring Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget, that boasts one of Europe's top Health Spas, the therapies of which are based on the utilisation of three of the island's natural thermal springs.

Margaret Island Thermal Water

The natural, thermal water was originally brought to the surface in 1886. It enters the spa at a temperature of 70ºC but it is then cooled to 34ºC, 36ºC and 40ºC but retaining its unique, curative ingredients.

The thermal water on the Margaret Island is famous for its healing effects on conditions such as joint and muscle problems, certain degenerative nerve conditions, some circulation disorders, and many other complaints. Relaxing in the thermal water is also a perfect way to unwind and release the stresses and tensions of modern life.

Health Spa Stays

The hotel offers both traditional 'Therapeutic' and 'Well-being' stays.

Indications: rheumatic diseases of the locomotive system, rheumatoid arthritis (except in the acute phase), osteoarthriti, of the spine and joints, gout, polyarthritis, ankylosing spondylarthritis, discopathia, soft tissue rheumatism, tenosynovitis, lower back pain, frozen shoulder, static dysbalance, post injury and post operative rehabilitation of joints and spine, fibromyalgy, exhaustion, respiratory catarrh, chronic periferical circulatory disturbances, nervous disorders, geriatric regeneration.

Contraindications: infectious diseases, malignant tumors, leukaemia, serious cases of anaemia and haemophilia, acute thrombosis, and thrombophlebitis, bronchial asthma, hyperthyreoidism, feverish condition, pregnancy, endometriosis, incontinence, certain skin conditions, epilepsy, auto-immune diseases.

Therapeutic Stays

Using Margaret Island's thermal waters and taking advantage of the expertise of our medical team and physiotherapists, therapeutic stays are designed to treat the complaints listed in the Indications. The recommended length of stay is between 14 and 21 days. 

Spa Facilities

The Margaret Island Health Spa has recently been renovated. With views over the park, the spa has been designed with natural colours and light to enhance its island setting. Facilities include:

• Newly designed pool area with both indoor (17.5  x 8.5 m 27ºC) and outdoor pools (12.5 x 6.5 m 26-28ºC), sun terrace, adventure pool (8 x 4.6 m 32-34ºC), thermal bath (8 x 8 m 38ºC), gymnastics pool (4 x 6.5 m 33-35ºC), sauna, steam, aroma cabin, solarium
• Complete medical section with diagnostics, balneotherapy, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, mud packing, electrotherapy, inhalation, Kneipp Therapy Centre
• Cardio Centrum - cardiology examinations and related services
• Danubius Premier - 400 sq. metres fitness facility, 35 exercise stations, 2 aerobic rooms

• Specialist examination and weekly consultation
• Diagnostic section: medical examination, laboratory, ECG, cardiology check-up
• Balneotherapy and hydrotherapy: thermal bath, whirlpool, underwater jet massage, carbonic bath, effervescent bath, underwater traction, hydro massage, mineral water drinking treatment
• Physiotherapy: medical massage, segment and connective tissue massage, therapeutic exercise (individual and in groups), therapeutic exercise in water (individual and in groups)
• Electrotherapy: galvanic bath, four-cell bath, ultrasound, interference

Medical treatments are traditionally popular in the morning hours, however we are able to provide medical treatments outside these hours until 6.00 pm every day upon request.  Relaxation treatments and treatments not requiring a doctor's examination are available at all spa opening times. Treatments may be restricted on the following public holidays: 1.01., 15.03., 1.05., 20.08., 23.10., 1.11., 25-26.12., Easter and Whitsun.
