Well, we told you, July 2016 was going to be a very busy month for London. Travelling to London with friends, family, on business or just by yourself, we have put together the events you should NOT miss this month.
We mentioned the Euro 16 in our previous post but we almost forgot to talk about Wimbledon, how silly! So if you are a tennis addict and couldn’t get your tickets don’t panic, there are lots of places with big screens and fantastic atmosphere to watch and enjoy the matches such as BST Hyde Park Summer House (more details here), Pop Fields in Brixton (where you can also watch the Tour de France by the way 🙂 ), London Bridge City Summer Festival or near Saint Paul, on one of the roof tops in the One New Change shopping Centre.
One of our favorite sport is here the Cricket, being opposite Lord’s Cricket Ground it would have been difficult not to be passionate about it! We will be showing the next Test Match England vs Pakistan in our Pavilion Bar but also outside in the Marquee (North Entrance). Burgers, Bacon batty, Veggie rolls and beers are on the menu! Enough of sports, let’s talk about Art! This Summer, The Royal Opera House is offering live Opera and Ballet in Trafalgar Square. Il Traviator famous Italian tale of Love will be performed on stage and displayed on big screens in Trafalgar Square for FREE on Thursday July 14th 2016! Newcomers to Opera or fans, make sure you arrive early to secure your seat. Performance starts at 7.15 pm.
This summer, The Queen opens her official London Residence to the Public. From July 23rd, you will be able to visit the State Room of Buckingham Palace and admire some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection (Rembrandt paintings, Sevres Porcelain, fine English and French furniture…). This Summer 2016 opening is a special one as it features a limited edition exhibition to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday: a display of her outfits, worn during her life and reign. Tickets £20.5 for adults, £11.8 for children.
At last but not least, July will end with the Prudential Ride London. This year edition will starts on Friday 29th with the RideLondon Grand Prix: Free to watch, the race will arrive at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and promises great fun. On Saturday 30th, it will be your only chance to enjoy traffic free roads with the RideLondon Free Cycle. Free to participate, you will be able to cycle past Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, St Paul and more!
