Royal Trail

Inspired by King Friedrich August II of Saxony, this path leads you from Goethe Square up the Mescéry Lookout Point Hill, past the Millennium Memorial, and to a bench dedicated to Clementso, one of Tepla Monastery’s abbots.

Goethe's Trail

This trail is relatively short, measuring just 1.1 kilometres. You won’t need long to follow in Goethe’s footsteps. Head towards Laska Chapel, and you’ll see the “Goethe and the Muses” statues just a few steps away. Finish your walk by enjoying the Forest Spring healing waters.

This hiking route is slightly longer, at 4.5 kilometres. It starts from Tyršova Street and leads you through Bear Spring Woods, to Balbín Springs and the old cemetery. You can continue on to the Karolina Lookout Point and Forest Spring Park.

Hamelika Lookout Tower

These romantic castle ruins from 1876 are 20 metres high and offer a wonderful view into the resort centre.

Mescéry Lookout Point

Friedrich Wilhelm Heights

This neo-Gothic pavilion in the Špičák Mountains with a columned hall was named after Prussia’s King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. From here, you can take in a view of the Tachov Hollow and the ridge of the Český les Forest.

Downhill skiing

Don’t miss out – ski down the Mariánky slopes at least once. A cable car and two modern ski lifts will bring you back up to the top quickly. Nightly runs are even more enchanting.
