But what is even more impressive is that he is one of the few knights of the Military William Order to be still alive. Now, for those who don&#8217;t know what we are talking about, the Military William Order is the highest honour of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>Our General Manager Steven Van Herwijnen had the great pleasure to meet Major Mayhew when he stayed with us to enjoy the Cricket Test Match at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lords.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lord&#8217;s Cricket Ground<\/a> just across the street from us.<\/p>\n<p>It is not every day that we get the chance to meet a British Army Veteran of WWII and we would like to thank Major Mayhew for his kindness and for letting us share this story with our readers.<\/p>\n<p>We hope to welcome Major Mayhew again very soon.<\/p>\n<p>You can read more about his life here:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kenneth_Mayhew\" target=\"_blank\">Major Mayhew Biography<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of weeks ago, we were honoured to welcome a very special guest into the Danubius Hotel Regents Park.
