Employee of the Month November 2018 – Bai Gaye

For those who are not familiar with our blog, every month our staff nominates an Employee of the Month to be rewarded for following the Danubius Values and providing an exceptional Customer Service.

For the month of November, it was Bai Gaye‘s turn to be awarded for his amazing work at The Danubius Hotel Regents Park.

 

Here is a little about his career at The Danubius Hotel Regents Park:

On a significant morning in March 1988, as Chef Bai walked through the doors of the Danubius Hotel Regents Park, he never thought that he will fall so deeply in love with the place.

Since then, the hotel has gone through several alterations, but Chef Bai has held his own as a solid entity. He remembers of the time when he was fondly referred to as “The Rock” and “The Bulldozer” by colleagues and General Managers, due to his unwavering hard work and dedication. Cooking had always held a special place in his heart and the smile that a delicious plate of food brings to people’s faces, remain a constant source of incomparable happiness in chef Bai’s life. When he is not rustling up his favourite African delicacies, Chef Bai finds himself engaged in a good game of football. Riding his bike, going for long walks and listening to Reggae and Classical music remain his other passions. In the future, Chef Bai plans to open his own business of a continental restaurant in his motherland, The Gambia.
