We stayed for 4 days. We spent comfortably and relaxed at the hotel. The staffs responded our requests soon and appropriately. In addition, the hotel is next to Astoria station and city center. This is quite convenient for tourists. However, what the one disappointed point is we did not allow to use free Wi-Fi in the room. We could use it only public space such as at the lobby. Thank you all staffs.

I have absolutely no criticism of the Danubius Hotel Astoria. The hotel is very clean and aesthetically pleasant, the staff is kind and courteous as well as well-versed in English (great asset for any tourist). In addition, the downstairs restaurant - Mirror Restaurant - has an outstanding food and wine selection with appropriate pricing and romantic atmosphere. The location itself is very fine as well, a five to ten minute walk to the Danube River with spectacular bridge views. For anyone wanting to travel to Budapest, the only piece of advice to offer (probably self-evident) is to visit during Spring to late Autumn seasons. I came in February and froze half my face just walking along the river edge.

Astoria är ett vackert hotell med fasad i secessionstil och interiör i nybarock. Erdös Gábor är Front office manager, han gav oss en fantastisk service, långt över förväntningarna. Bl.a trollade han fram Operabiljetter med perfekta platser. Hotellet andas en svunnen tidsepok och har klass och stil. Det är personligt, lagom stort och smakfullt inrett. Här känner du dig hemma och jag hade kunnat stanna länge. Matsalen och café delen är förtjusande och de serverar god mat. Astorias läge är perfekt, en meter till tunnelbanan och spårvagnar. Dett är mycket bekvämt när du skall på upptäcksfärd. Jag kommer helt säkert tillbaka och kommer alltid att bo på Astoria när jag besöker Budapest.

Hotellet ligger centralt och sevicen är god. Det enda jag har att klaga på att är det inte finns fri WiFi.

Good: location, atmosphere, spacious room a very nice hotel, at a very convenient location, easy to reach anything on foot, but also exactly at the metro station with the same name, a bit old fashion, charming for this reason, maybe not so charming for some for exactly the same reason, staff professional, if a bit distant. stayed there for more than a month in total, so i obvioysly like it, especially for the price!

Das Hotel ist ein traditionsreiches Haus, alleine der Frühstückssaal ist einen Aufenthalt wert. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich, die Zimmer schön und das Frühstücksbuffet läßt keine Wünsche offen. Mein Lieblinshotel in Budapest, ich komme bestimmt wieder!

Location Tip: Jewish quarter within 200 metres of the hotel. Buda walking tour more interesting than Pest tour. River cruise using hop on hop off boat great value Trams no 2 and 19 vice you good views of Budapest from either bank of the Danube Room 308 was spacious and comfortable with an interesting view of the junction, though keep the windows shut. Excellent breakfast and good evening menu. Food was exceptional. Try the goulash soup, the pike and the lamb. Great flavours and perfect with the merlot. Less than £20 per head for 3 courses with wine. Good service included. Ideal situation for public transport. Metro and trams outside the door. 1 stop from Deak ter- the centre for tourists with access to all tours and most transport. Budapest card good value for this location. Staff very friendly and good English speakers. Internet can be purchased from the room but sit in the lobby near the wall and get McDonald's wifi free. Would not hesitate to go back here again. Art Deco atmosphere with modern facilities. A very good hotel. if we visit Budapest again, we will go back without hesitation.

Zimmer der "Deluxe"-Kategorie befinden sich im eigentlichen Hauptgebäude, sind geräumig, hübsch ausgestattet und in der Regel nur unwesentlich teurer als die Standard-Zimmer, die kleiner sind und sich in einem angrenzenden Gebäude befinden, das aber baulich in jeder Etage mit dem Hauptgebäude verbunden ist. Die Standard-Zimmer sind dunkler und deutlich kleiner als die Deluxe-Zimmer. Frühstück ist gut, aber relavtiv teuer. Das Internet ist sehr teuer (€4 für 30min.), also besser kostenloses Wi-Fi der umgebenden Cafes benutzen.

Good: Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was good . Although this is a very old hotel the room was nice & large very comfortable.and spotless clean with good showers etc. Location was excellent with a lot to see in just a few minutes walk.

Location Tip: So much to recommend! The tour of the Parliament building, the old town in Buda, St Stephen's Basilica, and just taking a stroll along the Danube and over the bridges. We had a really pleasant 3-night stay at the Astoria. Staff were superb, the rooms were clean, warm and well furnished and the hotel location is excellent, an easy walk from the city centre and with both tram and underground stops on its doorstep. I'd definitely stay here again.

Fantastic building, fantastic location just a short walk to the riverfront and the main sights. Loud music on Friday night kept us up until 3am though was the only downside, but was quiet on the other two nights!

Le Danubius Astoria est un hotel historique de Budapest, idéalement situé au centre ville, si bien qu'il n'est facile de visiter nombre de lieux à pied à partir de ce point. Sinon, le métro est situé à 5m de la porte de l'hotel, ainsi que plusieurs lignes de bus et de trams.

ペスト地区の中心部にあり、ホテルの名称が地下鉄の名称になるほど歴史のあるホテル。外観は古めかしいが、中は新しい。部屋も広く、これがこの値段で泊まれるのはすごくお得。しかし、朝食代はこれには含まれていない。ホテルは現在プロモーションをしており、毎回朝食を取る客には28パーセント安い料金にすると言われた。残念ながら、私は4泊したが、最後の日は早朝にチェック・アウトしなければならず、その適用を受けないので、1回だけホテルで朝食をとり、あとは近くのカフェーで食べた。

Schönes stillvolles Hotel, die Zimmer sind renoviert und das Angebot im Restaurant ist abwechslungsreich. Gute Lage aber ein bisschen laut für mich. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr hilfsbereit.

The hotel is great! Clean, large and nice rooms, great stuff down in the reception, a very good and not so expensive restaurant in the lobby, a huge!! breakfast etc.. The only minus i've found is that there i no free wifi in the rooms and it costs a lot of money. If i'll visit Budapest again i'll definitely stay there again! P.S I found a very cheap offer in Hotels.com and it turned out i've paid almost half price than the other people that were with me in the conference...

Et ældre fint hotel som ligger dejligt tæt på centrum. Hotellet oser af nostalgi, men moderne ting er kommet med. Selvom hotellet ligger tæt på centrum, var trafikstøjen på værelserne ikke noget problem. Natklubben i kælderen var en positiv musikalsk overraskelse.

Ein herrliches Hotel mit echtem Flair! Nur ein paar Gehminuten von den berühmten Einkaufsstraßen entfernt befindet sich diese Perle. Schon in der Lobby empfängt man den Eindruck der Pracht dieser Stadt. Mit seinem Enterieur, dem freundlichen und kompetenten Personal fühlt man sich sofort willkommen! Der Eindruck setzt sich im “Spiegel”-Restauant fort – Eine echte Augenweide! Nun kann ich nicht sagen, wie die Zimmer der anderen Kategorien sind, jedoch war ich überwältigt von unserem. (Deluxe Room) Ein kleines Appartement trifft die Beschreibung eher. An der Ecke gelegen, Parkettböden, Kassettentüren, Stuck, Kronleuchter, Gäste-WC …. Es fehlte nur noch eine Küche und die 70 Quadratmeterwohnung wäre perfekt. Dabei sind die Zimmer dezent und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Astoria befindet sich direkt an einer großen Straßenkreuzung und ist bestimmt nichts für Liebhaber von Landhäusern und Stille. Die dicken Fenster nehmen schon einen Großteil des Lärms, der sich ab etwa 21 Uhr zurücknimmt weg, jedoch bleibt immer ein Grundpegel. Es ist eben eine Großstatdt. Ein Vorteil dieser Lage befindet sich aber unter genau dieser Kreuzung. Es ist die direkte Anbindung an das U-Bahn-Netz. Von dort aus ist in Minuten das Parlament, die Donauseiten, die Oper, die Burg und alle anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten von Budapest zu erreichen. Wir nutzten für 2 Tage ein “Family Ticket”. Damit konnten wir in jeden Winkel fahren und für einen Gesamtpreis von 9 Euro – Ein Schnapp! Zum Frühstück muss ich sagen: Der Glanz setzt sich nicht ganz fort. Es entsteht Unruhe im schönen Frühstückssaal. Vor allem, weil die Wege zum Kaffee, den Gläsern, der Milch recht ungeschickt gewählt wurden. Das Angebot reicht von typisch ungarischer Wurst zu Fisch, Warmspeisen, Frischobst und Gemüse bis zu den geliebten Flocken. Ein Internetzugang ist im Hotel übrigens kostenpflichtig, ist in der Lobby aber durch den Nachbarn über eine kostenlose Alternative (zwinker) direkt in der Lounge per WLAN verfügbar. Bei meinem nächsten Budapestbesuch werde ich wieder hier anreisen. Ein echter Tipp! Noch ein Nachtrag: Vorsicht beim Parken rund um das Hotel! Der Wagen sollte nicht ohne ein gezogenes Ticket in den Umliegenden Parkflächen abgestellt werden. Es war für mich nicht ersichtlich, wo sich der Automat befand, aber er war da! Über den Tag kreisen dort die fleissigen Helfer in gelben Westen und verteilen sofort Knollen über 20 Euro. DAS PARKHAUS des Hotels befindet sich parallel zur Hauptstraße in der “Realtanoda Utca”. Hier existiert ein Vertrag mit dem Hotel und die Kosten belaufen sich auf etwa 16 Euro/Tag. “Franklinhouse …” Es gibt 2 Parkhäuser dort!

A delightful hotel with real flair! Only a few minutes walk from the famous shopping streets away is this gem. Already receives in the lobby the impression of the splendor of this city. With his Enterieur, the friendly and knowledgeable staff makes you feel immediately welcome! The impression is the “mirror”-Restaurant continues – A real Eye candy! Now I can not tell you how the rooms of the other categories are, however, I was overwhelmed by our own. (Deluxe Room) A small apartment makes the description more. Located on the corner, parquet floors, paneled doors, stucco, Chandelier, guest toilet …. There was only one kitchen and The 70 square meter apartment would be perfect. Here are the rooms discreetly and tastefully decorated. The Astoria is located on a major road intersection and is definitely not for lovers of country houses and silence. The big window taking a good percentage of the noise which is from about 21 clock back takes away, but always remains a basic level. It’s major city! One advantage of this situation is exactly this junction. There is a direct connection to the subway network. Is from there Minutes, the Parliament, the Donau side, the opera house, the castle and all to reach other sights of Budapest. We took two days for a ‘Family Ticket’. So that we could in every Angle and go for a total price of € 9 – A Snap! For breakfast, I must say that the gloss does not continue throughout. It creates anxiety in the beautiful breakfast room. Especially because the Way to the coffee, the glasses of milk chosen rather clumsy. These range from typical Hungarian sausage with fish, Hot dishes, fresh fruit and vegetables to the beloved flake. Internet access is charged at the hotel by the way, is in the lobby But by the neighbors about a free alternative (wink) directly into the lounge via WLAN . Next time I come here again I will Budapestbesuch. A real tip! Another Addendum: Be careful when parking around the hotel! The car should not be drawn without a ticket in the Surrounding Parking areas will be shut down. For me it was not clear where the machine was, but he was there! Circling the day there, the diligent workers in yellow vests and distribute immediately tubers 20 €. THE PARK HOUSE hotel is located parallel to the main road in the “Realtanoda Utca”. There exists a contract with the hotel and The cost is about 16 € / day. “Franken …” There are two car parks there!

Highly recommend Danubius Hotel Astoria Budapest, we were fortunate to be able to check in early, excellent value for money; we had all our meals in the resturaunt-first class. Room serviced daily, windows double glazed so no traffic noise etc. Metro & Hop on Hop off Buses across the road. Walking distance to all tourist attractions including river. If we were ever to return to Budapest we'd certainly stop here again.

This hotel is an art deco antique style with character and beautifully done.Only medium in size, no major facilities (like swimming pool,spa etc )but excellent dining room and (dare I say it) an old fashioned style of service.A great experience and in a top spot on top of a central metro station.If the price is right,stay there, its worth more than the average 4 star for sure.

The restaurant ala carte food was very good, and the buffet breakfasts were good, replenished often, some variation day to day, started early for early departures and offered a cold "box" to take ith you or have in the lobby if you were leaving earlier. Free coffee and tea in the lobby from around 0500. Would happily go back again, ssigned PMWE

Grand hotel in the older style in a super city location, an easy walk to major city attractions including the gorgeous St Stephen's church, museum, art galleries, synagogue, river-front with all sorts of entertainment. It's also spot on for the excellent bus & metro service so it's easy to get to the Citadel, Castle, and spas including the impressive Hotel Gellert art noveau thermal baths & pool. Number 8 & number 112 buses go directly & frequently to the Congress centre making conference attendance easy (I attended the recent EACPT conference there) & adding the advantage of being in the middle of the city for after-hours entertainment. The staff are great - ever-helpful & patient. I had a great stay - thank you.

Dette hotellet har stil som viser gammel storhet. Et sted med sjel og atmosfære. Serviceinnstilt og vennlig personale. Hotellet er oppgradert nylig. Vårt rom var stort og luftig med fransk balkong og nytt bad. Flott frokost. Eneste minus var trafikkstøy siden hotellet ligger i krysset mellom to sterkt trafikkerte gater. Veldig sentralt og med gangavstand til de fleste severdighetene. Metrostatsjon i krysset utenfor hotellet.

Dit prima hotel heeft een uitstekende ligging. Dichtbij de Donau, en dichtbij alle belangrijke buurten van Pest. Ook Buda is al lopende snel bereikbaar.

Das Hotel liegt verkehrsgünstig und gleichzeitig sehr zentral, man kann zu Fuß Erkundungstouren in die Innenstadt starten. Allerdings muss man dafür starken Verkehrslärm in Kauf nehmen, denn die Kossuth Lajos utca ist eine extrem stark befahrene Straße mit sechs Spuren. Ansonsten ist das Hotel mit seinem nostalgischen Ambiente sehr empfehlenswert.

We stayed at the Astoria as my wife is originally from Budapest and knows the area very well.She recommended it. I found it clean and the staff were friendly and curtious.All our dining was done outside the hotel for variety. Coming from Vancouver BC I was surprised of smoking and non smoking rooms. You could smoke in the lobby.Small elevators. No fans in the bathrooms was unusual. Overall we were very satisfied and would recommend and would also return.

Super-Lage! und ein wunderbares Hotel - wir waren bei unserem letzten Budapest-Besuch dort zum Kaffeetrinken! alles bestens,guter Service, auch preislich noch durchaus verträglich, passt schon. also: wenn der Zimmer-Preis stimmt - hängt natürlich von der Saison ab.. - Zimmer dort buchen, denn der Service stimmt und man ist nicht nur im Zentrum, sondern im echten authentischen Budapest!

Good: Отель в старинном стиле с роскошными люстрами и антикварной мебелью Большие выходные на ноябрьские праздники и открытый шенген в паспорте открыли замечательную возможность посетить Европу. Выбор пал на Будапешт. В первую очередь из-за того, что город очень красивый, но не малую роль сыграло наличие известных термальных купален в городе. Вообще очень хотелось посетить оз.Болотон и Хевиз, но было мало времени. Кому это удалось - искрене завидую))) Погода для прогулок по городу выдалась отличная - яркое солнце и теплый воздух!!! Что запомнилось, так это очень красивая архитектура, Дунай и мосты! Советую посмотреть замок или крепость у горы Геллерт с рыбацким бастионом, оттуда открываются восхитительные виды на город. Спуститься к реке можно по фуникулеру и насладиться видом на Парламент. А также стоит посмотреть собор Св.Иштвана и здание Оперы. А теперь о термальных купальнях. Если есть возможность стоит посетить все купальни города, а это Геллерт, Сечени, Рудаш. Мы отправились на целый день в Сечени. Они находятся около площади тысячелетия, зоопарка и замка(который был на рестоврации). В Сечени 3 открытых бассейна с разными температурами (18, 34 и 40) с рекой, джакузи, фонтанами и даже шахматами в воде)))) А внутри просто рай для банщика))) Около 20 бассейнов с полезными минералами и солями с разными температурами,а также множество парилок с различными температурами! За один день конечно о результате нечего сказать, зато мы получили свою дозу релакса))) Shopping Tip: Будапешт не тот город в Европе, куда стоит ехать за покупками. Но чтобы совместить приятное с полезном, можно найти неплохие магазины. Недорогие магазины H&M, Promod, C&A, Nike, Adidas, Coin, Bershka, Stradivarius, Zara можно найти на улице Vaci в центре города вдоль набережной (недалеко от моста Эржебет). Более дорогие магазины на улице Fashion Street (по улице Vaci от магазина Zara) и на улице Andrassy (Gucci, Guess, LV) Из больших центров легко добраться до West-East Center около метро Nyugati

Stayed 5 nights in October 2010 & found hotel comfortable, central & well maintained. Good-sized bedroom with powerful shower. Staff mostly friendly & helpful. Breakfast excellent with huge choice. Price for accommodation most reasonable.

Perfectly situated and full of character, I would recommend this hotel. The buffet breakfast is excellent but the smoking in the Foyer spoils the atmosphere. The lumpy flock pillows delays sleep.

This rating is for the Deluxe room. We were impressed overall but the shower needed repairing. The room was very comfortable. service is excellent and location is perfect with the Metro right at the front door and easy to use.

This is for standard room. Very clean, comfortable bed and location is perfect. Service at hotel is very good. Furbishings a bit tired, however, ignored as everything else about the room and hotel is great. Certainly value for money

Das Hotel hat richtig Charme! Die Fenster sind schalldicht, von der Straße bzw. der derzeitigen Baustelle bekommt man nicht viel mit. Die Zimmer, aber vor allem die Lobby sind stilvoll eingerichtet und lassen keinen Komfort missen. In der Lobby sind einladende Sofas mit alten Möbeln aufgestellt, alles ist mit Mamor, Messing, alten Teppichen sowie wunderschönen großen Vasen eingerichtet. Man hält sich dort gerne auf. Außerdem liegt das Hotel direkt an der Metro-Station "Astoria", auch Buslinien halten hier, man kann sehr gut alles erreichen.

This four star hotel with a lot of character lived up to its billing and more. We were able to obtain a very reasonable rate using hotels.com. It was well located (subway just steps away) and within easy walking distance of many of Budapest's attractions. There was very little ambient traffic noise with the windows closed. The room was very spacious. It had a small balcony, it was air conditioned, had a minibar/fridge, a safe, a desk, a small round table and two easy chairs. There was ample closet room, and a superb bathroom (with bidet and hairdryer and piped in sound from the TV). There were two lifts and a restaurant which looked very appealing, though we did not patronize it. The staff at reception was multilingual and very helpful. The only small drawback was that there was no parking and it is located on the corner of two very busy streets, but the hotel has an arrangement with an indoor garage very nearby (with reasonable rates) and that worked out fine. We will return to this hotel and would highly recommend it as we were very satisfied with the overall experience.

Bellissimo hotel in stile impero posizionato nel cuore di Budapest. Ottimo punto di partenza sia a piedi che con i mezzi (una stazione della metropolitana si trova ad un metro dall'uscita dell'hotel) per il giro della città. Le camere arredate in stile sono state rimodernate di recente sono pulite ed accoglienti. Il personale alla reception professionale, ma non molto socievole. Colazione buona ma non eccezionale soprattuto se rapportata al prezzo 14,00 Euro- Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.
