Very central, polite staff, old fashioned style. Particularly liked the breakfast. Only possible downside is the traffic noise, which does calm down eventually.

Good: We really enjoyed this historic building. The interior, finished down to the details, was amazingly beautiful. This hotel is not suitable for those who like modern architecture, smooth surfaces and no ornamentation. The location in the heart of the city brings in traffic and city sounds. Again - if you want something else, don't choose this hotel! We wore earplugs and slept very well! The hotel has very good transport links all over the city, including the airport bus (100E) stop about 50 meters away, in the direction of arrival. It is a 5-minute walk back to the airport bus stop. Hungarian State Opera is about 15 minutes of walk, Gellért Thermal Bath 20 minutes. Breakfast was served in an extremely beautiful hall. The coffee was very good and strong! The eggs were made as orderd. The beds in the hotel room (409) were exceptionally good - the mattresses were firm baut not too much. The blanket was big but not heavy. The pillows were of moderate size, 2 pieces. The room was clean and spacious. Bad: The interior, finished down to the details, was amazingly beautiful. This hotel is not suitable for those who like modern architecture, smooth surfaces and no ornamentation. The location in the heart of the city brings in traffic and city sounds. Again - if you want something else, don't choose this hotel! We wore earplugs and slept very well. Carpets and chair covers that need updating or deep cleaning as soon as possible. In other respects - wonderful!

Good: We loved the cleanliness, quietness and all of the amenities provided by the hotel; the classic furniture, shelves, desk, armoire was very helpful in accommodating our 4 night stay. The view from our 3rd floor room was spectacular, breakfast buffet outstanding with plenty of staff and varied food and drink items. The buffet room and all other rooms were absolutely gorgeous in decor with that “old world feel” one would hope to have of that era. Bad: Wash cloths would be helpful in bathrooms.

Good: Nice hotel in a perfect location, the hotel´s "own" metro station is right at the door when you step outside. The hotel has a long history, and the interior is classic style. I liked the style. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and there were many healthy choices. The sound insulation of the room was good, I was sleeping very well. Bad: Some more TV channels in English would be nice, there was BBC News. I don´t watch much TV in hotels, but more news would be nice.

Good: Sehr gute Lage, historisches Gebäude, grosses Zimmer, TV mit deutschen Programmen und beim Frühstück gibts tatsächlich soweit passablen Kaffee. Man kann das Hotel übrigens mit dem 100E ab dem Airport erreichen, wenige Meter noch zu Fuss. Bad: Sieht von aussen etwas Düster aus.

Ideally located for all Budapest sights and city centre, just a short walk away. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Comfortable room.

Good: The location of the hotel is perfect. The staff is very helpful. Absolytely loved the bar at the hotel with mstyre experienced and attentive staff. They were telling us about the history of the hotel. Loved rhe pianist playing in the evening. It is nice to stay at the hotel where the staff appreciate their customers rather than the moders computerised impersonal hotels these days. Bad: Could do woth a kettle in the room, as we love our evenkng cup of thea before the bed. Also couldn't work out the aircpn, so had to open the balcony door. But would gladly stay again

Good: Прекрасная локация, приветливый персонал, хорошие завтраки. В номере есть холодильник. Bad: Ковровое покрытие в номерах нуждается в замене или тщательной чистке. Грохот с улицы и ремонт дороги напротив отеля не дают нормально выспаться ( но две-три ночи не критично).

Un bellissimo hotel situato in pieno centro ma non rumoroso. L'interno è davvero molto suggestivo. Il personale molto gentile e disponibile. Le camere semplici ma comode e pulite. Lo consiglio tranquillamente

The hotel has so much character. Our hotel room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast options were excellent with additional all day restaurant meal options. The staff were always available to assist and were very polite. The location was suitable for our needs for sightseeing.

Good: There was a main light in the room rather than lamps. Bad: The room was just a bit tired. It could do with an update.

Very nice hotel with spacious room. Be aware the hotel rooms are dated but I think it’s the vibe they are going for. The area is loud so request a higher floor to stay on. Lovely staff and restaurant.

Good: The location of this property was amazing! Let alone the staff who were very welcoming and helpful. I love the history of the building and was in very good condition seeking how old it is. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! Bad: I liked everything.

Un hotel de 10, para recomendar.

Hotel muy bien ubicado, acogedor, limpio y el buffet para el desayuno de 10. El personal muy agradable y dispuesto ha ayudarte en todo momento, en especial la chica española que se encontraba realizando el erasmus, un hotel para repetir y recomendar a todo el que quiera pasar unos días agradables en Budapest.

Good: Freundlicher Service, Koffer konnte am Abreisetag sicher abgegeben werden. Top Lage in die Innenstadt und an die Donau. Anreise mit dem Flughafenbus perfekt möglich. Zimmer täglich gemacht. Bad: Für uns in Ordnung, jedoch für manche ist der hohe Einstieg in die Wanne/Dusche ein Problem.

Good: Heritige property in the heart of the city … fantastic location ! Overall a great stay ! Highly recommend

Good: We liked the location, closed to the river, and also to other places that we visited. Also close to Metro line. Bad: The balcony is very old style, and being closed to the bulevard maybe a better closing system should be installed. Soundproofing is not the best during some moments of the day.

Good: Breakfast. The queue for the coffee was long at times. Great Location. Very good help and advice at the reception desk. Mr. Daniel gave us a lot of help. Bad: The cleaning was shoddy. in the shower were 2 bottles of shower gel, no shampoo. Used towels were randomly changed. used plates were not collected, one of the 2 used cups, not cleaned, disappeared. no refill of coffee powder. The key didn't work 3 tines and it was a long walk to the reception desk.

Good: Hôtel très bien situé près d'une artère principale , facilite d'accès à pied ou avec les transports en commun, chambres confortables et spacieuses, excellent PDJ et le personnel en général très compétent . Bad: Malgré le double vitrage, le bruit de la rue est omniprésent ( tram, sirènes de pompiers, ....) La personne qui fait le ménage au 5eme étage ne passe pas l'aspirateur ni lave le sol dans la salle de bain.

Perfect location to explore the city. You can chose from classic rooms and modern rooms all in a grand style setting. The food is outstanding.

Good: The location is very good for walking and subway access. Lot of fast food around it. The staff is excellent and ready to help. We left soon I'm the morning and they prepare breakfast to take away. Bad: No view at all. Even with nice windows proof sound we can eat outside street noises.

Didn't have a room. I just went to the bar. The staff were very professional and polite. The place was clean and beautiful. I had a negroni, and it was properly mixed.

Amazing front desk staff! So friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy! Black out blinds worked a treat. Shower pressure was perfect!

We drank in the Cafe Astorius each night and staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent Bad: Outside facade and entrance of hotel could do with a make over, seemed old looking.

Good: Die Lage war mehr als perfekt , um Budapest zu erkunden und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten, Bars und Restaurants sowie Supermarkt zu erreichen. Der Stil hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war auch super. Bad: Eine Flasche Wasser im Zimmer wäre bei diesem Preis angemessen.

Rooms are perfectly modern. The reception and restaurant are exactly as they were built in 1914, except that the food is better and there's free Internet. Expect that Hercule Poirot might be sitting at the next table.

Good: The hotel is very centrally located. All the attractions are within walking distance. If you want to see certain monuments then be prepared for hills & stairs. The Metro is under the Hotel. Even though my room overlooked the main streets, the noise was completely shut out. Two Italian RAI TV stations Bad: It would be nice if Hotel supplies cheap slippers due to Carpeting.

Good: The location is exceptional. The Metro is below the Hotel. An excellent range of buses & old fashioned trams pass by the Hotel although you can walk to most places of interest. RAI Italian TV station. The Breakfast is abundant and can serve as Brunch. The Hotel has a history and this can be seen from the Reception area & Restaurant. Sound proof really works since traffic could not be heard from my room with a balcony overlooking a cross-road Bad: No slippers supplied in a carpeted room.
