The legendary Hotel Astoria Budapest opened in 1914 as one of the city’s most elegant hotels, and – over a century later – it stays true to that original character. And its location: a 10-minute walk from prime attractions like the Hungarian National Museum, the Great Synagogue (the largest in Europe), the Danube promenade and the famous Váci Street.

Good: Everything! The staff were all wonderful. The breakfast was amazing. The restaurant was great. The location is excellent. The room was clean.

Hotel: Sehr schönes historisches Gebäude im Herzen von der Innenstadt von Budapest. Es stammt aus dem Jahr 1914 und war das erste Hotel in Budapest, das nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg in der Stadt geöffnet hat. Der Name stammt vom legendären Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. Das Ambiente der öffentlichen Räume ist Jugendstil. Lobby und Café/Restaurant sind klassisch elegant. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für das Hotelzimmer war gut. Es gibt eine Parkgarage unweit vom Hotel in der Reáltanoda utca 5 (Franklin Garage), im Hotel gibt's darauf 1000 HUF Rabatt, man bezahlt die komplette Parkgebühr im Hotel. Das Auto dort wird aber von Servicekräften geparkt und man kommt nicht ohne Weitereis zwischendurch ans Auto dran. Aber für ein kurzes Ent- und Beladen kann man kurz vor dem Hotel halten, wenn man mit dem Auto anreist, obwohl es eine der meistbefahrenen Strassen der Stadt ist. Ich empfehle den Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel auf jeden Fall. Location: Absolute Spitzenlage im Herzen der Stadt. Ganz in der Nähe befinden sich Europas größte Synagoge und das Nationalmuseum. Die U-Bahn Haltestelle (in der Unterführung) und die Straßenbahn sind vor der Tür. Auch das "bulinegyed" (Kneipenviertel) ist sehr nah und der sehr schöne und besondere Anker Palast und die Große Markthalle sind nur 1 bzw. 2 Straßenbahnhaltestellen entfernt aber im Prinzip kann man alles zu Fuss erreichen. Service: Das Personal ist ausserordentlich freundlich und gästeorientiert und spricht einwandfrei Deutsch. Food: Wir haben nicht gefrühstückt sondern in der Mittagszeit Kaffee getrunken und einen hausgemachten Kuchen genossen. Die Preise für Budapest und das Ambiente waren angemessen. Room: Die Zimmer sind normal eingerichtet, die Bäder sind neu. Ich empfehle die Deluxe-Zimmer

酒王位置非常好，就在地鐵口！門口也有各路公交車，去哪裏都很方便！酒店服務員非常熱情！酒店設施稍微陳舊，但很有歷史感！

Good: The staff was helpful and courteous. Being Traditional jews, we needed someone to let us into our room on our sabbath as we could not use the electronic key. They did so cheerfully Bad: there was nothing to complain about. all met my expectations

Good: The hotel is centrally located, 5 minutes from the Jewish Quarter and a from Váci u. street. The rooms are spacious, the staff very nice Worth the monetary value.

Excellent helpful staff...large clean and comfortable room...tea and coffee facilities provided on request, excellent breakfast..huge choice...lovely old building. No 'leisure' facilities but not wanted as dont go on holiday to go to the gym...would definitely stay again...thankyou

Helt fantastisk beliggenhed! Midt i centrum - tæt på bylivet, lækre restauranter, og ca. 10 min. Gang til shopping. Desuden LIGE ved siden af metroen, så man kan let komme rundt. Tager man 100E bussen fra lufthavnen, stopper den også lige ved hotellet. Rigtig flot hotel og super (!) god service. Værelset var rent og pænt og har alt man skal bruge. Kan klart anbefales.

Ett utmärkt hotell centralt i Budapest med väldigt nära till allmänna kommunikationer. Fantastiskt vackra miljöer som för tankarna till en svunnen tid, vilket gör att man kan ha överseende med vissa skavanker. Väldigt hjälpsam personal. Vid frukosten finns det en kål- och morotssallad som man kan äta väldigt mycket av - så god.

Good: We liked the location, the breakfast (which was amazing), the bedroom was nice too. The hotel has a very nice architecture and is welcoming. Bad: We were at the end of a corridor next to rooms in which works were being done. It started very early in the morning and was annoying to hear a lot of noises. It woke us up.

Good: The location was good. Within walking distance to the river and access to the Budapest tram network outside the hotel. Bedroom was warm & spacious with a well equipped bathroom and plenty of hot water on demand Bad: Traffic noise was noticeable during the night at times

Yöhön aina Astoriassa Budapestissä ollessani. Rauhalliset ja kodikkaat huoneet, hyvä palvelu ja aamiainen. Hotellin lähellä on pysäkki, josta menee bussi suoraan lentokentälle. Viszontlatasra!

The Astoria cafe is remarkable..The hotel is so authentic...Every tourist to Budapest must visit this street..Its also close to Dohany street where the city center lies..

The hotel is in the best spot for seeing what Budapest has to offer. Everything is in walking distance and the hotel itself is lovely.

Like a step back in time ...in a good way.

Good: We loved our room at Danubius Hotel Astoria. Our room came with view of the city and had a lot of room and toilet space. The hotel looked after little details such as toiletries, mini bar, shoe polish etc and was very clean. We were allowed to leave our luggage at their storage room on our last day, upon check out which was handy. The breakfast was great, with lots of choices and treats. Overall we loved our stay and would high recommend the hotel :)

Staff very courteous, Room was clean and towels changed every day. Great location within walking distance of most sights. Ask for a rear room as the hotel is on a major crossroads but if you keep the window shut you can hear a lot of it. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel and would book again.

one of the best hotels in Budapesr

Good: We stayed in the the standard twin room for five nights we could have upgraded for another fifty euro but the room we had was fine. The bed was really comfortable , the room was large nice and warm and in a quite part of the hotel as l had requested. There was a very good selection of food at breakfast both hot and cold. The hotel is old style but this adds to its charm. The hotel is in a good central location with bars and places to eat nearby and the metro is right outside. Everything was fine. Bad: As stated already the hotel was great, but Budapest was more expensive than l was led to believe . Watch out when using public transport especially the metro that you have the right ticket and that you have validated it in the machine before entering the platform area as there are inspectors all over the place ready to pounce like hawks . Sadly there are a lot of homeless people on the streets and in the metro stations and this can be off putting , but that seems to be the way in many countries in europe at the moment including my own. That said Budapest is a beautiful city and well worth a visit.

Great hotel, with awesome location and great service

The Hotel's city centre location was excellent, enabling us to choose to either walk, bus or metro to all parts of the city. The Hotel has a unique sense of history with a mix of restored and well maintained facilities, and the large room sizes gave it a feeling of grandeur. Their staff were excellent and accommodating.

Good: מלון ברמה גבוהה ! המלון מעוצב בסגנון קלאסי מהמאה הקודמת. צוות אדיב מאוד , משתדלים לעזור כמה שאפשר. אני הגעתי לבודפשט בינואר לשם עבודה, הגעתי לבד והם השתדלו באמת לתת תחושה חמימה ולבבית. החדר עצמו גדול עם מיטה זוגית נוחה מאוד , כורסא , טלויזיה , מיניבר , כספת ,שולחן עבודה וכסא וגופי תאורה רבים . חדר מקלחת מרווח עם אמבטיה כיור גדול ושירותים חימום קבוע ופן . החדר כמובן מחומם כל הזמן. כשהגעתי לא היה קומקום חשמלי , התקשרתי ומיד הביאו לי קומקום וכוסות. מתחת למלון יש חדר אוכל עם ארוחות בוקר עשירות , ולמי שמעוניין בארוחה סולידית יותר יש גם מסעדה של המלון בסמוך לחדר אוכל. שם ישבתי באחד הערבים ,מלבד לאוכל הטעים היו שם נגנים שהנעימו את הזמן. אין ספק שאחזור שוב , מלון עם אווירה מיוחדת. Bad: מלון מדהים ! מיקום מרכזי. ממליצה לבקש חדר בקומה גבוהה מכיוון שהיה מעט רועש.

Beautiful old style hotel. The staff are extremely nice, helpful and courteous, food is lovely, the best shower of any hotel we have been in... lovely high ceilings in bedroom. The decor is fabulous, room cleaned each day, very attentive to their clients, the breakfast buffet is fabulous. Its like walking onto the movie set of the Great Gatsby or Poirot ..

Hôtel extrêmement bien situé pour visiter Budapest à pied. Métro au pied de l'hôtel. A deux pas du quartier juif et de la grande synagogue : quartier le plus animé de la ville avec nombreux restaurants. Personnel très agréable. Ne pas manquer de découvrir la salle du petit déjeuner qui est très belle . Les chambres sont spacieuses et agréables.

Good: Die Lage und das historische Flair sind absolut Traumhaft. Innerhalb weiniger Minuten ist man in der Innenstadt zum Einkaufen oder an der Donau. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Beim Frühstück sollte für jeden etwas dabei sein. Sehr sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Bad: -

Good: Отправила родителей-пенсионеров. Вернулись счастливые. Говорят "когда 100Е остановился прямо напротив ресепшен - это было первое счастье". второе счастье - то, что ресепшен говорит на русском. Номер-как номер, все хорошо. Завтраки очень понравились. Ну и расположение, собственно, из-за которого и была выбрана Астория :)

Good: The staff were absolutely incredible!! My friend and I are from Australia and were visiting as part of a short holiday and were incredibly aided by the helpful and obliging nature of every member of staff we came across. They recommended the best bus companies to travel with, provided us with salad dressing to our room at an unearthly hour after the restaurant had closed and MOST helpfully, got us a registered taxi who would take us to the airport at a fixed rate on short notice - they even shooed away a taxi driver who they knew would rip us off. This hotel’s historical charm was fittingly paired with the old-fashioned courtesy and charm of its staff. Would thouroughly recommend!!

This hotel was perfect for our stay in Budapest! It was centrally located, and a short walk from many of the important attractions. The metro stop (if you need it) was literally right outside the front door. The hop on/hop off also stops right in front! Other things I liked: shower head was super strong and hot, beds were pretty comfortable, staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't dine there, so I can't speak to that, but overall I would very much recommend and stay here again!!
