It's not modern or boutique but if you want old world charm then ideal. You will recognise the marble features in the major attractions in Budapest. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast has something for everyone.

Centrally located to everywhere we wanted to go. It must be said that it matters what quality of room you have. We were upgraded to deluxe due to a problem. The difference was not only size and repair of room, but also elegance and comfort of bed and pillows. Climate control was difficult. Front desk staff fantastic. Thank you

Location Tip: Walking distance of Danube and the Jewish quarter. Hop on and off buses stop nearby and metro station is just outside. Spacious room with lovely bathroom. Good breakfast buffet. Lots of character.

Location Tip: Close to train and bus stops. Easy walk to the Basilica and other attractions Great price for the location. The room and fairly clean but they could use some updates bedding. There was a musty smell in the hallway of the hotel but the room was fine. Great breakfast that was included in the price with many options.

Good: メトロの入り口とトラムの駅がホテルの目の前という好立地。何度もホテルに気軽に寄りました。 バスタブとシャワーブースが別なのは非常に使い勝手がいい。バスルームにもトイレがありますが、別途もうひとつトイレがあって2名宿泊の時にはいいかも。 Bad: レセプションが常に１名なので、長く話し込む観光客がいるときは結構またされます。 アメニティ類は最低限。個人的にはあまり気にならないのですが、今回は長めの滞在だったので、湯沸しポット- がほしかった。

Good: Sängen o rummet var skönt,frukosten var utmärkt! Bad: Rummets dörr gick inte att låsa,den var öppet nör vi kom tillbaka, samt badrums dörrens handtag lossnade tyvärr.

Nice room, close to central Barcelona.

Good: Room was nice with big comfortable bed. Works being done next door unconnected to hotel which caused disturbance but staff were more than happy to move us and couldn't apologise enough. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect especially with hop on bus right outside. Hotel was very clean. Bad: Wifi rarely worked

Lovely historic hotel conveniently located close to the city centre. Clean and rooms serviced daily. Staff fantastically friendly & helpful. Wifi a little intermittent and no tea/coffee facilities in the room are the only minor downsides. Thoroughly recommended

Good: Lo hotel è ottimamente collegato con l'aeroporto trovandosi a 5 minuti dalla metro M3; è vicino sia alla terme Rudas (10 minuti a piedi), sia alle Gellert (15 minuti con il tram). I mezzi di trasporto disponibili nelle vicinanze consentono di visitare i luoghi più importanti di Budapest

Good: Camera grande , tranquilla , confortevole. Personale gentile. Posizione strategica. Ingresso e locali comuni di charme. Bad: Abbiamo saputo per caso al secondo giorno di avere una colazione basic compresa.

In the middle of Budapest it makes it very easy to walk to Hungary Castle, Parliament, down the Danube River and just throughout the city. The staff was very friendly always willing to help. Definitely made for a good holiday.

Good: Very central but quiet. Good choice breakfast and nice room. Service was good. Bad: The dinner menu was rather limited and the way of charging for a glass as opposed to a bottle of wine meant was out of proportion.

I stayed with my friend for 3 days, the location is perfect, the hotel is lovely, staff are very helpful and friendly. Plenty of choice for breakfast. We didn't eat in the restaurant but from what I heard the food is very good. Would definitely recommend this hotel to people, if I go back to Budapest will certainly stay there again.

Good: La habitacion muy grande. Ibamos con una niña de 7 años y especificamos en la reserva que dormia con nosotros para que no nos cobraran suplemento, pero al coger una habitacion estandar esto no era posible porque era pequeña y con dos camas, como avisamos y ellos no nos dijeron que no, nos tenian preparada una habitacion enorme con cama de matrimonio e incluso con un plegatin por el mismo precio. Bad: Por decir algo el desayuno era bueno pero un poco repetitivo, tambien puede ser porque estuvimos 5 dias.

Good: Grand hotel in centrial location may be a little worn but is very clean and the sepurb decor makes you feel like it's 1920. Excellent staff and breakfast buffet. The decor extends to the beautiful dining room which offers good Hungarian food at a fair price while being entertained by a gypsy band. Bad: Hotel must be close to a hospital because of the frequent sirens heard on the street.

Loved the location of the hotel. Very easily accessible to the metro and trams service: The room was very spacious as there were 2 bathrooms - 1 for toilet and the other for toilet, bath & shower. Would stay here again!

Hotellet ligger mitt i centrala Budapest på Pest-sidan. Det är nära till affärer, caféer och restauranger och de flesta sevärdheterna. Dessutom var det välstädat och trots att vi hade tre sängar i rummet så fanns det gott om utrymme.

Aivan ihana, historian havinaa kuiskivat hotelli. Loistava sijainti, aamupala ja henkilökunta. Hinta-laatu suhde täysi kymppi.

Flott ærverdig hotell som ligger like ved Astoria metrostasjon. Her er også stop for hop on hop off bussene like ved. Vi bestilte standard rom som var OK. Rommet var rent og helt greit. Ikke synlig slitasje. Vi velger nok superior rom neste gang, kostet bare litt ekstra og rommene virket større og freshere. Frokosten var verdt pengene. Kjøper man frokost på hotellet koster den 12 euro pr person pr døgn, om man kjøper for hele oppholdet (20% rabatt). Vi anbefaler hotellet!

Very enjoyable stay, the staff of the astoria hotel gave us a real, warm and welcoming reception during our stay; that was a reflection of the real Hungarian hospitality. This experience gave us an excellent impression about this beatuful country.

Good: Hotel dal grande passato, forse un po' appannato, ma ancora ricco di fascino. Camere belle e pulite, molto ampie ed attrezzate. La Hall è ancora quella in stile Decò dei primi del 900... Staff cortese. Bad: Colazione costosa (15 €, abbiamo preferito farla in un bar poco lontano). Parcheggio convenzionato (16€ al giorno) non vicinissimo. Pavimento a moquette.

The hotel was centrally located close to major attractions like the synagogue and St Stevens basilica. The room was beautifully furnished, was clean and spacious. Would have been much better if there was free breakfast.

This was as close to a "perfect" hotel as we have found, with "old-world" attentive knowledgeable service and atmosphere to make visiting Budapest extra special, but with everywhere freshly decorated (nothing "musty" about this 102-year-old hotel). Everything worked and was easy to use. Bed in deluxe room exceptionally comfortable. The buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety, and both the mid-afternoon snack and dinner (seafood) were tasty and well prepared, with a bonus of live traditional music with the dinner. A perfect conclusion to a trip in Eastern Europe, so highly recommended. You should find a reasonable rate if you look early enough.

Location Tip: steps to Metro and buses...walk to museums and Budapest synagogue...15 minute walk to Danube River Hotel gve a real taste of old Budapest. Staff is experienced and efficient and cordial in a Hungarian sort of way.

Good: Staff will go out of their way to help you and make your stay a pleasure. Especially helpful with getting us to an early morning flight! It's a beautiful hotel and the decor will take you back in time. My partner and I were able to walk to all the attractions and explore so many streets comfortably from it's location. It definitely helped make our stay in Budapest a memorable one.

Great place to stay.

mooie en gezellige eetzaal en restaurant,een frigo en kluisje op de kamer is goed meegenomen, heel uitgebreid ontbijt, jammer dat het brood en de broodjes nooit vers waren, voor de rest prima,de ligging is super, we waren er 10 dagen en hebben alles te voet gedaan, we namen 2 dagen een bus waar je op verschillende plaatsen op en af kunt stappen, plus daarbij nog een boottocht en het kostte maar 20 euro, zeker de moeite waard, zeker niet gaan eten in de winkelstraat, (Vaci) en zeker niet bij een Italiaan, daar kostte een halve liter bier 1500 forint, ook de aardappelen of rijst zijn apart te betalen, op 10min van het hotel in de Kiralystraat heel goed buffet voor 13 euro, dranken inbegrepen, we kozen cava en kregen een hele fles voor ons twee, jammer dat we dat maar de voorlaatste dag hadden ontdekt

Close to the Hop-On-Hop-Off tourist bus line and the Danube River, this hotel is the perfect place to stay for a few days or a few weeks! The food was fabulous too and don't forget to get a whiskey or wine at the unique bar! I'm only staying here when I visit Budapest!
