Call us

"Art-nouveau extravagance – the world’s most famous spa"

Let’s bid farewell to the Hotel Gellért together!

Danubius Hotels will continue operating the Gellért, one of the capital’s best known historical hotels, until 1 December. The countdown has begun.

Until 1 December, everything that makes Gellért the Gellért will still be there for you!

Join us in the next few weeks while we can still see the Hotel Gellért in the form and atmosphere that we’ve come to know and love.

About Danubius Hotel Gellért

The Art Nouveau style Danubius Hotel Gellért first opened its doors in 1918, and has long been an iconic Budapest landmark that has even featured in Hollywood films. Its stately building, at the foot of the Gellért hill, also houses the world-famous Gellért Baths, which include an outdoor pool with the original wave-generating device installed in 1927.

Over the years, some famous names have stayed at the Gellért – including American presidents and European royalty – and the hotel retains the elegant atmosphere of a bygone age. Guests can enjoy superb cuisine at the Panoráma Restaurant or Gellért Brasserie, and take advantage of wellness treatments and medical programmes at the adjacent Gellért Baths. Furthermore, the hotel is the perfect base for exploring, located next to one of Budapest’s most beautiful bridges and a short walk from Pest’s Great Market Hall and shopping streets.

Gellért Spa

Hotel Gellért is fortunate enough to share its building with one of the most venerated spas in Budapest. The Gellért Baths – with their stunning architecture, sun terraces and outdoor wave pool – provide a unique atmosphere. Guests face a dilemma: whether to reserve a room with a view of the Danube or the baths! Relax in the hands of skilled therapists and choose from a range of wellness treatments on offer at the Gellért Baths (operated by Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévizei Zrt).

The hotel’s guests have access to the spa at a discount during their stay.

Dining

For two decades (from 1927) the great Károly Gundel was chef at the Hotel Gellért, and he played a major role in ensuring its reputation as one of the grandest hotels in the world! Today the kitchen stays true to its proud traditions, offering a selection of classic dishes, but fuses this with modern approaches to cooking. Enjoy fine dining at our á la carte Panoráma Restaurant and popular Gellért Brasserie, or relax with something lighter at our café and cocktail bar.

Meetings

Hotel Gellért is one of just a handful of venues in Budapest that combine a yesteryear ambience with the modern facilities required for a successful event. The hotel has a range of halls suitable for hosting conferences, as well as indoor and outdoor spaces perfectly suited to romantic weddings.

Services & Amenities

We offer the following services to make our guests’ stay even more pleasant: hotel safe, laundry, airport shuttle.
If you have a vehicle, there is a garage 150 metres from the hotel which guests may use at a discounted price.

Free WiFi throughout the hotel.
