The Gellért Thermal Baths and Danubius Hotel Gellért are operated separately, and so their reopening will be conducted independently of each other. The Gellért Thermal Baths will reopen on September 1st, and therefore will be closed to guests in August.
Located in the same building as the hotel, but operating independently of it, Gellért Spa is Budapest’s best known outdoor and indoor pool complex. The hotel’s guests have access to the spa and its medicinal waters at a discount during their stay. To ensure you get a thorough make-over and feel completely rejuvenated, we have a hairdresser’s and professional pedicure/manicure service in the hotel, plus various Thai and other, refreshing massage options. The Gellert Spa is one of the Best Thermal Baths in Budapest.

Do you know where to find the best medical spa treatments in Budapest? You soon will, if you choose to stay with us! Our hotel is directly attached to the world-famous Gellért Baths, so if you want a medical examination, mud treatment, or inhalation, balneo, mechano-, hydro-, electro- or physical therapy at the baths’ medical spa facility, there’s no need to step outside the building.
The medicinal bath complex decorated with beautiful Zsolnay tiles has a complex physical therapy department and inhalation centre. The quality of the thermal water used for the treatments, that’s contained in the pools, is the envy of other medical spa hotels. The curative effect of the water sourced from the natural springs of Gellért Hill is due to its high calcium, magnesium, hydrogen carbonate, alkali, chloride, sulphate and fluorine content. It’s not surprising, therefore, that the Gellért is famous as a medicinal spa not just in Budapest but around the world!
Please note that you can apply for medical treatments directly in the Gellért Baths, by presenting a doctor’s referral.
