Good: This is a lovely old hotel that has been completely renovated to a high standard without spoiling its turn of the century attractions. It has many important connections with the complicated history of Budapest and Hungary. The hotel is close to many city cetntre attractions that can easily be reached on foot. The standard of the ciusine in the restaurant is excellent. Bad: Breakfast sometimes a bit busy.

Ich war zusammen mit meiner Frau zu einer 4-tägigen Sightseeingtour in diesem zentral gelegenen Hotel untergebracht. Es war alles perfekt.

Good: Very courteous & helpful staff

The location was perfect for a easter in Budapest. Walking distance to everything, buth also metro busses and tram outside the door. Friendly and helpfull staff. The restaurant was nice, service good, but the food was without taste.

We stayed for 4 days. We spent comfortably and relaxed at the hotel. The staffs responded our requests soon and appropriately. In addition, the hotel is next to Astoria station and city center. This is quite convenient for tourists. However, what the one disappointed point is we did not allow to use free Wi-Fi in the room. We could use it only public space such as at the lobby. Thank you all staffs.

Good: Hotelli edustaa vanhan ajan glamouria. Ystävällinen henkilökunta. Aamiainen monipuolinen. Keskeinen sijainti, kävelymatkan päässä kauppahalli, sillat, Vaci Utca jne. Hyvät yhteydet eri puolille Budapestiä julkisilla kulkuneuvoilla.

Good: The location was perfect! We stayed in room 410 and it was large clean and very comfortable. I didnt want to leave the kingsize bed! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will def be back! Bad: Although there was a mini bar in the room there was no tea coffee facilities in room which would have been nice!

I have absolutely no criticism of the Danubius Hotel Astoria. The hotel is very clean and aesthetically pleasant, the staff is kind and courteous as well as well-versed in English (great asset for any tourist). In addition, the downstairs restaurant - Mirror Restaurant - has an outstanding food and wine selection with appropriate pricing and romantic atmosphere. The location itself is very fine as well, a five to ten minute walk to the Danube River with spectacular bridge views. For anyone wanting to travel to Budapest, the only piece of advice to offer (probably self-evident) is to visit during Spring to late Autumn seasons. I came in February and froze half my face just walking along the river edge.

Bl.a trollade han fram Operabiljetter med perfekta platser. Hotellet andas en svunnen tidsepok och har klass och stil. Det är personligt, lagom stort och smakfullt inrett. Här känner du dig hemma och jag hade kunnat stanna länge. Matsalen och café delen är förtjusande och de serverar god mat. Astorias läge är perfekt, en meter till tunnelbanan och spårvagnar. Dett är mycket bekvämt när du skall på upptäcksfärd. Jag kommer helt säkert tillbaka och kommer alltid att bo på Astoria när jag besöker Budapest.

Good: Really nice stay here. The hotel has a genuine classical old-style feel to it and we were made to feel very welcome. We stayed 3 nights in a luxury double room for €170 which was excellent value. The only disappointment we had was the lack of a bath but being English i was too polite to go and ask if there was a room with a bath! There could have been so I really can't complain! Recommended.

L'hotel è molto elegante e pulito. Vicinissimo al centro e alla fermata della metropolitana. E' molto caldo e confortevole!

Good: location, atmosphere, spacious room a very nice hotel, at a very convenient location, easy to reach anything on foot, but also exactly at the metro station with the same name, a bit old fashion, charming for this reason, maybe not so charming for some for exactly the same reason, staff professional, if a bit distant. stayed there for more than a month in total, so i obvioysly like it, especially for the price!

Das Hotel ist ein traditionsreiches Haus, alleine der Frühstückssaal ist einen Aufenthalt wert. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich, die Zimmer schön und das Frühstücksbuffet läßt keine Wünsche offen. Mein Lieblinshotel in Budapest, ich komme bestimmt wieder!

Die Stadt ist wunderschön und das Hotel in einer wunderbaren lage das man jederzeit von A nach B kommt. Was besseres hätte uns gar nicht passieren können, super Lage. Morgens am Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend für alle was da auch wenn man als langschläfer zum Fühstück kam. ;) Wir kommen wieder, hatten sonnige (warme) anfang Nov. schöne 4 Tage für ein kurztrip übers WE war es genial. Also nur zum empfehlen !!

Location Tip: Jewish quarter within 200 metres of the hotel. Buda walking tour more interesting than Pest tour. River cruise using hop on hop off boat great value Trams no 2 and 19 vice you good views of Budapest from either bank of the Danube Room 308 was spacious and comfortable with an interesting view of the junction, though keep the windows shut. Beautiful hotel with a very good service situated in the middle of Budapest. Fast internet connection and friendly staff.

Good: Location was great adjacent to metro station and most attractions within walking distance. A lovely old majestic hotel with sculptured ceilings and decor - very grand. Booked a de lux room but not available but the alternative was ok at the side of the hotel on a quiet road. They also provided a free breakfast for both of us each day of our stay as compensation which was great as the breakfast was excellent. Towels changed every day and toiletries replenished daily. Would return Bad: The bar cliosed at 11.00 would have liked a nightcap before going to bed but there were bars nearby.

Good: Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was good . Although this is a very old hotel the room was nice & large very comfortable.and spotless clean with good showers etc. Location was excellent with a lot to see in just a few minutes walk.

Location Tip: So much to recommend! The tour of the Parliament building, the old town in Buda, St Stephen's Basilica, and just taking a stroll along the Danube and over the bridges. We had a really pleasant 3-night stay at the Astoria. Staff were superb, the rooms were clean, warm and well furnished and the hotel location is excellent, an easy walk from the city centre and with both tram and underground stops on its doorstep. I'd definitely stay here again.

Good: The hotel is old fashion way, nicely decorated with good taste, situated walking distance to the Opera House and the St.Stephen's church. The double bed is so spacious and confortable. The restaurant is surprisingly good . The staffs are friendly and kind. We had really good time.

Le Danubius Astoria est un hotel historique de Budapest, idéalement situé au centre ville, si bien qu'il n'est facile de visiter nombre de lieux à pied à partir de ce point. Sinon, le métro est situé à 5m de la porte de l'hotel, ainsi que plusieurs lignes de bus et de trams.

Good: Das Hotel entsprach meiner Erwartungen, Es war sauber die Zimmer waren ausreichend groß und sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet sehr reichhaltig vielfätig und schön hergerichtet. Die Lage ist excelent, man ist zufuß in 3 minuten in der Vaci utca und der Abgang zum Metro is direkt beim Hoteleingang. Das Personal ist freundlich hilfsbereit und höflich. Bad: Da das Hotel direkt an einem der Hauptverkehrsader der Stadt liegt ist es zu laut, um bei offenem Fenster schlafen zu können.

Good: Location is excellent...shopping and historic sites nearby. Staff very helpful,fluent in Engish,shuttle bus to airport for a reasonable cost. The historic past of the Hotel is a plus as well as the uniqueness of the decor. Bad: Smoking in the lobby and restaurant.

The hotel is at an amazing location. The front desk was always very helpful and everyone spoke English. They can plan your day for you and give you suggestions on where to go. Our shower-head was broken, when we let them know they fixed it immediately. Great service.

ペスト地区の中心部にあり、ホテルの名称が地下鉄の名称になるほど歴史のあるホテル。外観は古めかしいが、中は新しい。部屋も広く、これがこの値段で泊まれるのはすごくお得。しかし、朝食代はこれには含まれていない。ホテルは現在プロモーションをしており、毎回朝食を取る客には28パーセント安い料金にすると言われた。残念ながら、私は4泊したが、最後の日は早朝にチェック・アウトしなければならず、その適用を受けないので、1回だけホテルで朝食をとり、あとは近くのカフェーで食べた。

Schönes stillvolles Hotel, die Zimmer sind renoviert und das Angebot im Restaurant ist abwechslungsreich. Gute Lage aber ein bisschen laut für mich. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr hilfsbereit.

Good: lähellä hyvät ostosmahdollisuudet ja joen ranta Hotellin henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja auttavaista. Respan henkilökunta suunnitteli oheisohjelman lyhyen vierailun puitteissa, missä kannattaa käydä ja miten kohteisiin pääsee nopeasti. Kertoili henkilökunta vielä Tokajin historiastakin kaiken kiireen keskellä. Huoneet oli tilavat ja viihtyisät eikä vilkasliikenteisen kadun liikennemelu haitannut juurikaan. Aamupala oli suorastaan ylellinen ja 1800 luvulla rakennettu hotelli suorastaan huokui historian havinaa. Pienestä lisämaksusta saatu exclusive huone oli hintansa väärti. Henkilökunta puhuu hyvin englantia ja toiveet täytettiin täsmällisesti. Hotel Feature Tip: Kävelymatkan päässä kauppahalli ja ostoskatu.

Good: Inredningen, Personalen Vi var 4 grabbar som bodde på hotellet tre nätter i samband med EM-kvalsmatchen mellan Ungern och Sverige. Inredningen är vacker med gamla fina möbler och rummen väl tilltagna i storlek. Läget är relativt central med 15 minuters promenad till Saluhall, Bad och Donau. Personalen var trevlig och hjälpsam. Frukosten saknade inget. För den som vill se sig omkring via tunnelbana så finns en station precis utanför entrén. Varm rekommendation av oss alla 4. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Missa inte Gellertbadet med sitt Spa. Saluhallen är ett måste.

The hotel is great! Clean, large and nice rooms, great stuff down in the reception, a very good and not so expensive restaurant in the lobby, a huge!! breakfast etc.. The only minus i've found is that there i no free wifi in the rooms and it costs a lot of money. If i'll visit Budapest again i'll definitely stay there again! P.S I found a very cheap offer in Hotels.com and it turned out i've paid almost half price than the other people that were with me in the conference...

Since our flight was early in the morning, a special breakfast was prepared for us. We appreciate it so much. Restaurant Tip: If you have any difficulties to choose a restaurant you would like to go, try to buy your food at any supermarket. It is cheaper, and you may taste different food. There are many different markets close to Astoria.

Danubius Hotel Astoria City Center is located just at the exit of Astoria metro station. Its very convenient and allows to travel around the city fast. It's also close to tram that travels around the city and bus that goes to the other side of Danubius river (directly to Gellert baths). Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and speaks good English. Breakfest is rich and tasty. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Budapest. It's a very good deal for the price.

Et ældre fint hotel som ligger dejligt tæt på centrum. Hotellet oser af nostalgi, men moderne ting er kommet med. Selvom hotellet ligger tæt på centrum, var trafikstøjen på værelserne ikke noget problem. Natklubben i kælderen var en positiv musikalsk overraskelse.

Ein herrliches Hotel mit echtem Flair! Nur ein paar Gehminuten von den berühmten Einkaufsstraßen entfernt befindet sich diese Perle. Schon in der Lobby empfängt man den Eindruck der Pracht dieser Stadt. Mit seinem Enterieur, dem freundlichen und kompetenten Personal fühlt man sich sofort willkommen! Der Eindruck setzt sich im “Spiegel”-Restauant fort – Eine echte Augenweide! Nun kann ich nicht sagen, wie die Zimmer der anderen Kategorien sind, jedoch war ich überwältigt von unserem. (Deluxe Room) Ein kleines Appartement trifft die Beschreibung eher. An der Ecke gelegen, Parkettböden, Kassettentüren, Stuck, Kronleuchter, Gäste-WC …. Es fehlte nur noch eine Küche und die 70 Quadratmeterwohnung wäre perfekt. Dabei sind die Zimmer dezent und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Astoria befindet sich direkt an einer großen Straßenkreuzung und ist bestimmt nichts für Liebhaber von Landhäusern und Stille. Die dicken Fenster nehmen schon einen Großteil des Lärms, der sich ab etwa 21 Uhr zurücknimmt weg, jedoch bleibt immer ein Grundpegel. Es ist eben eine Großstatdt. Ein Vorteil dieser Lage befindet sich aber unter genau dieser Kreuzung. Es ist die direkte Anbindung an das U-Bahn-Netz. Von dort aus ist in Minuten das Parlament, die Donauseiten, die Oper, die Burg und alle anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten von Budapest zu erreichen. Wir nutzten für 2 Tage ein “Family Ticket”. Damit konnten wir in jeden Winkel fahren und für einen Gesamtpreis von 9 Euro – Ein Schnapp! Zum Frühstück muss ich sagen: Der Glanz setzt sich nicht ganz fort. Es entsteht Unruhe im schönen Frühstückssaal. Vor allem, weil die Wege zum Kaffee, den Gläsern, der Milch recht ungeschickt gewählt wurden. Das Angebot reicht von typisch ungarischer Wurst zu Fisch, Warmspeisen, Frischobst und Gemüse bis zu den geliebten Flocken. Ein Internetzugang ist im Hotel übrigens kostenpflichtig, ist in der Lobby aber durch den Nachbarn über eine kostenlose Alternative (zwinker) direkt in der Lounge per WLAN verfügbar. Bei meinem nächsten Budapestbesuch werde ich wieder hier anreisen. Ein echter Tipp! Noch ein Nachtrag: Vorsicht beim Parken rund um das Hotel! Der Wagen sollte nicht ohne ein gezogenes Ticket in den Umliegenden Parkflächen abgestellt werden. Es war für mich nicht ersichtlich, wo sich der Automat befand, aber er war da! Über den Tag kreisen dort die fleissigen Helfer in gelben Westen und verteilen sofort Knollen über 20 Euro. DAS PARKHAUS des Hotels befindet sich parallel zur Hauptstraße in der “Realtanoda Utca”. Hier existiert ein Vertrag mit dem Hotel und die Kosten belaufen sich auf etwa 16 Euro/Tag. “Franklinhouse …” Es gibt 2 Parkhäuser dort!

A delightful hotel with real flair! Only a few minutes walk from the famous shopping streets away is this gem. Already receives in the lobby the impression of the splendor of this city. Here are the rooms discreetly and tastefully decorated. The Astoria is located on a major road intersection and is definitely not for lovers of country houses and silence. The big window taking a good percentage of the noise which is from about 21 clock back takes away, but always remains a basic level. It’s major city! One advantage of this situation is exactly this junction. There is a direct connection to the subway network. Is from there Minutes, the Parliament, the Donau side, the opera house, the castle and all to reach other sights of Budapest. We took two days for a ‘Family Ticket’. Good: Everything! The staff was really nice and friendly, the room was cleand and large, the hotel is beautiful and is right next to a metro station. EXCELLENT quality/price ratio. Completely recommended for couples, just make sure you ask for the double bed :) Bad: Nothing!, But we noticed the breakfast was kind of expensive

Great location, clean room & well serviced. Good breakfast with lots of variety, but expensive. Staff very helpful. Free Internet "in rooms" is a MUST, in this age! We went next door to McDonalds for a coffee to contact home.

Highly recommend Danubius Hotel Astoria Budapest, we were fortunate to be able to check in early, excellent value for money; we had all our meals in the resturaunt-first class. Room serviced daily, windows double glazed so no traffic noise etc. Metro & Hop on Hop off Buses across the road. Walking distance to all tourist attractions including river. If we were ever to return to Budapest we'd certainly stop here again.
