Absolutely beautiful

Good: Excellent location, hotel is on a busy road intersection but it is to be expected in a city centre location and means you have tram and bus stops east/west north/south very close to the hotel. Metro station is under the road intersection. All the staff were very helpful. We stayed in superior double room, the room is on the small side (we need to store push chair) but has plenty of storage space so unpacked and put suitcases in baggage room. The bed was comfy and big enough to have our 1yr old in the middle. Nice bathroom with good shower. Bad: The coffee at breakfast is not great (the rest of breakfast is good).

Good: Beautiful hotel in its original style. Large comfortable beds, great breakfast and amazingly helpful staff. Bad: No kettles in the rooms - but that seems to be a European thing.

Good: The hotel is in a strategic position for everyone who wants to visit the city by foor or by underground. The room I was in was big enough for two people and the view was really nice, even though there was traffic on the road the window glass blocked the sound of cars

Good: The property is well situated in Budapest. It’s minutes from the Astoria underground and a range of bus stops that can take you across the city. The staff were great and dealt with anything that came up. The hotel looked good and there was an option to eat in or have a drink if needed. Bad: I liked everything.

Good: Beautiful 1914 design. Comfortable bed, good shower and outstanding breakfast buffet. Cleaning ladies were very nice. Two young girls working the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Bad: Could use a fan in the room yo circulate the air.

Good: Good location, very close to Elisabeth Bridge, Vaci útsa, and National Museum of Hungary. There is a metro station at the door, Astoria Metro station. Very clean, polite staff.

Good: This is an historic hotel and the rooms may seem a little outdated, it could use some refurbishing. You will find here one of the best hotel receptionists. The location is perfect. Very large rooms. Bad: The breakfast was very basic. The lack of parking spaces.

We loved the Old World charm and beauty of the hotel. It is very well maintained and clean. The restaurant is fabulous with many Austrian menu items and the staff is very professional. The breakfasts were excellent as well with many items to select from. The staff at the reception were very helpful with all of our questions, printing of documents, directions, calling taxis, etc. Absolutely TOP.

Wonderful hotel, restaurant and staff. The staff at the reception was very professional and helpful. The room was large and always clean. The restaurant was excellent and at the breakfast buffet there are many items to choose from and all are delicious and well presented.

The Danubius Hotel Astoria City Center was a true blessing. The staff was absolutely superb! And we enjoyed our room.

Good: The hotel is pleasant, air conditioning works throughout the hotel, also in the room excellent air conditioning (very important in the crazy heat in July), large and comfortable bed, clean and well-equipped room. Good: Just returned from 3 nights at this lovely hotel. It was very centrally located on the Pest side of the river and close to most of the attractions. We loved the old world feel of the place. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Even though it was in the heart of the city, we didn’t hear any traffic noise at night. The metro station is right outside the door and the Airport express bus drops off just across the street. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good: It is a very historic building. I find it privilege to stay there. It is verh central too. Room was nice and clean. People in reception are kind and helpful. We were able to do late check out for 25Euro since the room was not booked after us. We had a flight at 21.30, so it was incredibly helpful. Bad: There was something spilled on the carpet that was sticky. Although it is a historic hotel and floor is covered with carpet, I believe technology is well developed to find a machine to clean it withiot harming the textile. This gives me the idea that the floors are not being cleaned properly.

Good: The room was too large and very well decorated. Very clean. The breakfast was excellent. Also the location is excellent: all types of public transport are across the street and the river Danube with all its the activities is just minutes walking away. Bad: As we spent one week in this hotel and as it was too hot outside, we really needed a cup of coffee in the room. The fact there was no kettle there.

Good: Customer service was excelent! I was needing to print out the train tickets. The lobby computer printer was not working well. The hotel receptionist went above and beyond to help me to get the train hard copies! Bad: Close to city tourist attractions.

We had a lovely experience, went there for a little quiet time with our dog. Everybody at the reception was super sweet and helpful, we asked for a room that didn't face the busy street, it was absolutely perfect. All the rooms, the hallway, the lounge were beautiful, the place has its charm. Definitely not for people who are looking for a modern, minimalistic hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't try their café/restaurant, but it looked good.

It is a nice combination of a historic property (the lobby, cafe and breakfast area had beautiful historic spaces) combined with newly renovated rooms that are comfortable. Location is convenient to the city and also the airport bus 100E.

Fantastic location,very close to Metro & easy to get about.

Good: We had a junior suite, which was well equipped and comfortable. The location is very good, close to the metro and in a less noisy area of the city. It's a fine old hotel and has the ambiance of Old Central Europe. The restaurant is good and the breakfast excellent. Bad: The Wifi was very weak in our room.

Good: Location was excellent right outside a metro / bus and tram.stop. also within short walking distance of museums . Breakfast was a buffet with a wide selection of choices. The hotel itself has character and history. So it was interesting to stay here. The staff are kind and helpful. No complaints. Excellent value for the price. We enjoyed staying here I would highly recommend and would book again. Bad: The air conditioning didn't work very well. Otherwise everything else was great 👍

Good: Hotel was old and well maintained building. Also it is located near to public transportation, restaurants and others. Bad: Bathroom. There is no shower curtain that can cover the entire bathtub. There's a glass but only half of the bathtub was covered. It's only a minor problem.

Good: A clean and cozy room. A fridge to keep all your food in. Excellent location, in the middle of everything. Received an early check-in without additional charge. Understanding and co-operative reception and cleaning staff. A good breakfast. Bad: Soundproofing between my room and the corridor was poor, luckily my room was located in a "corner" so a lot of people didn't walk past it. When I first checked in and got to my room, there was lots of hairs and toilet paper in the toilet, and I didn't have a bath towel. I received one the next day so no problem. Otherwise cleaning seemed to be done well. Breakfast good but slightly overprized.

Really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is situated very close to bus and metro stops and really convenient for both airport and train station. It was also easy to walk to the main sights and restaurant areas. The hotel is on the corner of 2 busy roads so some rooms could possibly be noisy. The room we stayed in was at the back of the hotel so quiet, very spacious and clean

Good: (1) Building design, authentic condition & history; (2) Breakfast in beautiful room & well managed by staff; (3) Bathroom shower; (4) Openable bedroom windows; (5) BBC World channel on bedroom TV; (6) Water kettle delivered to bedroom upon request. Bad: (1) Staff almost without exception efficient, helpful & friendly. Only one grumpy bloke found in restaurant at dinner; (2) Towel policy seems shaky - changed even if rehung carefully, as instructed; (3) Room not visited by housekeeping on 2nd day.

Good: Amazing hotel with an old-fashioned yet very charming vibe that makes you feel like you are in another time. The room was very big and elegant with a very nice view on the streets. The staff is super friendly and available, ready to satisfy every need. The breakfast is huge and it is worthy also if you just sit in the beautiful room and relax with a coffee. Very good quality-price ratio. Highly recommended! Bad: I would have liked to have a boiler/coffee machine in the room and a bottle of water in the fridge. The "sweet" offer at breakfast is a bit limited. Sometimes the noise from the streets in the night is very loud although the windows usually shield it very well.

Good: The location was great. Not far from the river and right next to a metro stop. The front desk was very helpful on recommendation, including the best place to exchange money. The room was quiet and staff was great. When asked for additional pillows, they were delivered very quickly.

Frontdesk staff was helpful. My room initially had a minor electrical power problem. The maintenance staff came by within minutes to resolve it. There was also a mix-up in room assignment. Both guests assigned to the same room were amiable, and the front desk quickly resolved the matter. Not a big deal but obviously should not have happenened in the first place.

Good: Location. It is right in the center of the city. It is within waking distance to everywhere. You can enjoy the night view of the river every night. I did. It has a Macdonald in the same building, very convinient for a good cup of nice iced americano which is not easily available in Hungary. There is a cafe in the ground floor which serves good food in the classic atmosphere. The room is big enough for two of us and the bathroom has a tub. If you are a big fan of an old classic hotel, this is it. We stayed for 7 days and I would recomend it to my friends. And the airport bus stops right before the hotel. Bad: It is situated right in the middle of a big cross road so a little noisy even at night. If you are very sensive to noises, this hotel is not for you.
