1. General conditions

Danubius Friends is a loyalty program for guests who book directly through Danubius Hotels Zrt.’s own platforms and channels (danubiushotels.com, Danubius Central Room Reservation, request for quote form, telephone, e-mail).

The Danubius Friends program is open to the guests of Danubius Hotels Zrt. staying at its hotels listed in section 2, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.  

Only natural persons over the age of 18 may be members of the Danubius Friends Program.

Membership is established once the applicant has filled in the registration form on the website
friends.danubiushotels.com and activated the account by clicking on the link in the confirmation e-mail.

Danubius Hotels Zrt. processes the data provided in the online registration form, as well as any preference and booking data related to selecting a hotel in connection with the membership, in accordance with the Privacy Policy of the Danubius Friends program in force at the time.

Membership is personalised and non-transferable.

Only one membership per person and per registered e-mail address is allowed. Providing an e-mail address is a condition of establishing membership; without it the account cannot be activated.

Danubius reserves the right to verify the guest's active membership at the time of check-in, and in case of misuse as defined in 8.2.e), to revoke all discounts and permanently exclude the offender from the program.

Danubius Hotels Zrt., the operator of the Danubius Friends program, reserves the right to unilaterally amend the Terms and Conditions of the program, the conditions of participation, the levels and rewards, or to unilaterally terminate the Danubius Friends program. Danubius Hotels Zrt. shall inform members of the termination of the program 90 days in advance in writing, by a message sent to the e-mail address provided. 


2. List of hotels participating in the Danubius Friends loyalty program

Exclusively the following Danubius hotels participate in the Danubius Friends loyalty program:

 

  • Danubius Hotel Annabella, Balatonfüred
  • Danubius Hotel Marina, Balatonfüred
  • Danubius Hotel Arena, Budapest
  • Danubius Hotel Astoria City Center, Budapest
  • Danubius Hotel Erzsébet City Center, Budapest
  • Danubius Hotel Helia, Budapest
  • Danubius Hotel Hungaria, Budapest
  • Danubius Hotel Bük , Bükfürdő
  • Danubius Hotel Rába, Győr
Radisson BLU Béke Hotel, Hilton Budapest, Danubius Hotel Regents Park, and Ensana hotels are not participating in the loyalty program.

3. Registration for the Danubius Friends program

You can register for the loyalty program only online on the Danubius Friends Portal (friends.danubiushotels.com) by filling in the mandatory fields (marked with an asterisk) of the registration form and by accepting the terms of these Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.

Registration is free of charge and it is not a prerequisite for booking.

Following registration, the user will receive an e-mail containing a link to activate his/her account by clicking on it. If the user fails to activate the account within the time period specified in the e-mail, the account cannot be used and the registration must be restarted.

Danubius Hotels Zrt. reserves the right to initiate a reconciliation of the data provided during registration and to reject registration based on false information or re-registration by the same person, or the registration of a person whose membership has been terminated previously pursuant to Section 8.2. d) of these Terms and Conditions.


4. Login to the Danubius Friend account

Following activation, members may login through the Danubius Friends Portal (friends.danubiushotels.com) using the e-mail address and password provided at registration.

4.1. Functions available in the Danubius Friend account

The Danubius Friend account available in the Danubius Friends Portal is a non-public, password-protected part of the royalty program, which may be accessed by members following registration in the program, by entering their login details; membership and booking activities may also be monitored in the account.

Overview (summary page)

  • Track Danubius Friends membership details and status (such as name, membership ID, membership level)
  • Check out the details of bookings

Rewards

  • Check out any active rewards available for your booking, which will be recorded on your profile two days before arrival (you will also receive an e-mail), and a history of rewards that have expired. The more nights a Danubius Friends member stays at a Danubius hotel participating in the program, the more valuable is the reward package granted on arrival. The content of the reward package is determined by the number of nights booked and the hotel of your choice.

Profile

  • Providing preferences are optional, but allows Danubius Hotels Zrt. to provide each member with personalised offers, in line with the member's interests, and to take them into account during the member’s stay.
  • The name and e-mail address are particularly important for the identification of members and for the tracking of their bookings; therefore, they can only be changed by contacting the Danubius Friends Customer Service at info@danubiushotels.com.

  • This is for members to select the messages they are interested in, and the channel (e-mail, SMS) where they would like to receive them. You may withdraw or repeatedly provide your consent at any time on this page by ticking or un-ticking the appropriate box.

5. Membership levels of the Danubius Friends program – Friend levels

There are three levels in the Danubius Friends program, with automatic upgrade when conditions are met.

5.1. Friend 1

Following registration and account activation, all members start at Friend 1 level and may remain there without a time limit, as long as they wish to hold membership in the program, or until the membership is terminated according to Section 8 of these Terms and Conditions.

Friend 1 level provides a 10% extra booking discount to members when booking at participating hotels, and a reward package based on the number of nights booked.

Members at Friend 1 level will automatically be upgraded to Friend 2 level after one completed stay.

5.2. Friend 2

Friend 2 level provides a 15% extra booking discount to members and a reward package based on the number of nights booked.


Members will be reclassified from Friend 2 level

  • to Friend 1 level after 365 days without another completed stay (on the day following the 365th day),
  • and to Friend 3 level on the day of departure of another completed stay within 365 days.

5.3. Friend 3

Friend 3 level provides a 15% extra booking discount to members and a reward package based on the number of nights booked.

Members receive a one-off 25% booking discount when first reaching this level, valid for 30 days, which may be used for advance bookings made within 90 days of reaching the level (arrival and departure date included).

Members at Friend 3 level may also receive extra discounts and offers.

Members will be reclassified from Friend 3 level

  • to Friend 2 level after 365 days without another completed stay (on the day following the 365th day),
  • and their Friend 3 level membership will restart, for a period of 365 days, on the day of departure of another completed stay within 365 days.

Members can find more information on their current Friend level by logging into their account on the Danubius Friends Portal and moving to the overview page, or on the virtual card added to their Android or iOS phone in the Wallet application.

If members do not check in to the hotel for the booked stay or cancel the stay, their stay will not count towards their progress in the Danubius Friends program. An exception to this is if a member has paid 100% of the accommodation cost and his/her booking is non-refundable.


6. Types of discounts for each membership level

Different membership levels provide different discounts to members.

6.1 Booking discount

Danubius Friends members receive an extra booking discount on the published price of the hotel services selected at the time of booking, except for the prices indicated as SPECIAL OFFER. This is different for each level.

  • Friend 1 level: 10% extra booking discount
  • Friend 2 level: 15% extra booking discount
  • Friend 3 level: 15% extra booking discount, plus further special and limited-time discounts.

The extra booking discount is offered for the published rates and cannot be combined with other discounts (e.g. the voucher discount for subscribing to the newsletter cannot be separately applied to these rates) and cannot be redeemed against public rates marked as SPECIAL OFFER. 

The extra booking discount can be applied to a member's own room and up to 3 additional rooms when booking individually.

The extra booking discount cannot be redeemed if the loyalty program member (Danubius Friends member making the reservation) is not present, and will be withdrawn upon arrival.

In case of booking through agents (e.g. Booking.com, Expedia, Accommodation.hu, etc.), Danubius Friends membership benefits (such as discounts, reward packages, level upgrade) cannot be granted despite membership.


6.2. Reward Package

Reward packages vary according to the number of nights booked and for each hotel. Members are notified of the rewards by e-mail prior to their stay, and the rewards are also sent to the Danubius Friend account prior to arrival. The content of the reward package does not depend on the applicable Friend level.

6.2.1. Rules of providing reward package

  • When booking through agents (e.g. Booking.com, Expedia, Szallas.hu), we do not provide rewards, even to Danubius Friends members.
  • Of the rewards, vouchers are transferable only under the condition that they are basically for the member of the loyalty program, and can only be used personally by the member or the persons travelling with him/her.  If there is a room credit, the consumption and/or service provided against the voucher as part of the reward package can be charged only to the room of the Danubius Friends member whose name and room is indicated in the voucher.
  • If the reward package or any part of it is left in the room after departure, the hotel will not be able to mail or hand them over later.
  • Reward packages cannot be exchanged for something else and cannot be purchased separately; these items are only available as part of the reward packages granted to members of the Friends loyalty program.
  • A reward package is granted only to the Danubius Friends member even when multiple rooms are booked. If the Danubius Friends member making the reservation indicates at the time of booking, or by telephone before 4:00 p.m. on the second day before arrival, to Central Room Reservation (or to the contact person for group bookings) that he/she is travelling with other Danubius Friends members and provides their membership number, the reward package can be granted to each other Danubius Friends member. Danubius Friends members are entitled to one reward package per room. If more than one Danubius Friends member is staying in the room, only the Danubius Friends member under whose name the room is booked will receive a reward package.
  • Only those Danubius Friends members booking directly are guaranteed a reward package who have provided their name and membership ID per room at least 2 days before arrival until 4 p.m. for individual bookings, or 15 days before arrival for group bookings. For bookings received after such date, Danubius Hotels cannot guarantee providing a reward package.

For more information on the vouchers in the Reward Package (Gastro or Wellness):

6.2.2. Gastro vouchers:

  • The voucher may only be used once, before its expiry date, in the catering units of the hotel that issued the voucher and where the Danubius Friends member is staying.
  • The voucher is not redeemable for cash, it cannot be combined with other discounts, and cannot be replaced if lost.
  • If the purchase amount is lower than the face value of the voucher, the remaining balance will be forfeit and will not be redeemable for cash.
  • The intention to use the voucher must be indicated in advance at the point of use.
  • The voucher expiry date and place of use are indicated on the voucher. Danubius Hotels Zrt. will not compensate unredeemed vouchers, and lost or damaged vouchers cannot be replaced.

6.2.3. Wellness vouchers:

  • The voucher may only be used once, before its expiry date, in the wellness unit of the hotel that issued the voucher and where the Danubius Friends member is staying.
  • The voucher is not redeemable for cash, it cannot be combined with other discounts, and cannot be replaced if lost.
  • If the purchase amount is lower than the face value of the voucher, the remaining balance will be forfeit and will not be redeemable for cash.
  • The intention to use the voucher must be indicated in advance at the point of use.
  • The voucher expiry date and place of use are indicated on the voucher. Danubius Hotels Zrt. will not compensate unredeemed vouchers, and lost or damaged vouchers cannot be replaced.

6.3. Special discounts and other rewards

  • Danubius Hotels Zrt. reserves the right to offer, from time to time, personalised promotional discounts to members within the framework of the Friends program. The amount and conditions of redeeming such discounts are regulated individually. The terms and conditions can be obtained by e-mail and from the description and promotional information available on the guest portal.

7. Booking using the benefits of Danubius Friends membership

Only Danubius Friends members who have registered online and activated their Danubius Friends membership by e-mail can benefit from the Danubius Friends membership. The extra booking discount is only available with prior registration for individual bookings up to 4 rooms, redeeming it later is not allowed.

7.1. How to book online

Members can view extra discount rates by logging into the Danubius Friends Portal at friends.danubiushotels.com and clicking on the menu “Booking” or by logging into their Danubius Friend account in the online booking system (booking.danubiushotels.com). The rates and packages available for booking in this way already include the discount corresponding to the Danubius Friends member level, and grant a reward package on arrival and all other membership benefits such as upgrading. 

If members do not book as a logged-in member, the extra booking discount cannot be applied later.

7.2. Request for an offer by e-mail or telephone, or using a request for quote form

If a guest is a Danubius Friends member, he/she may also request an offer on a request for quote form, by e-mail or telephone. In order to be able to redeem the membership benefits corresponding to your membership level, at the time of requesting an offer or making a reservation, you must indicate in advance that you are a member of the Danubius Friends loyalty program by providing your Friend membership ID.  The Membership ID can be checked by logging into your Danubius Friend account, and it is also indicated in all membership-related e-mails (such as the welcome e-mail after registration) and on your virtual card.

If a member makes a reservation without providing his/her Danubius Friends membership ID, the extra booking discount cannot be applied later.

7.3. Registration after booking, or failure to provide a Danubius Friends membership ID at the time of booking

If a person booking individually has an active reservation but has booked without logging into the Danubius Friends account or without providing a Danubius Friends membership ID to Central Room Reservation, he/she is allowed to indicate by telephone before 4:00 p.m. on the second day before arrival, to Central Room Reservation that he/she is a Danubius Friends member by providing his/her membership ID.

In this case, the hotel provides the reward package upon arrival, and the booking will be considered as a stay for level upgrade, but the member will not be entitled to a subsequent extra booking discount of the percentage appropriate to the level.

If, after the expiry of the above deadline, a guest indicates his/her Danubius Friends membership at the reception desk during his/her stay at the hotel before check-out, he/she will not be entitled to either a subsequent discount or a reward package, but the stay can be linked to his/her Danubius Friends membership and this stay will be counted towards the increase of the level of the discount program after departure.

If a member has not indicated his/her membership before check-out, the stay later cannot be counted towards the upgrade within the program.

7.4. Danubius Friends benefits for individual, group and corporate bookings

The Danubius Friends program offers individual leisure guests an extra booking discount for 1 (own) room + 3 rooms (booked for other guests travelling with him/her) booked by a Danubius Friends member.

A maximum of 1 Danubius Friends member per room is entitled to a reward package, provided that the members’ names and membership IDs were indicated at the time of booking (online or by phone, e-mail, in a request for quote form) or before 4:00 p.m. on the second day before arrival (to Central Room Reservation by phone).

One Danubius Friends member per room is entitled to level upgrade, provided that the members’ names and membership IDs were indicated at the hotel reception desk no later than at the time of check-out, and the room was booked in the name of that member (or provided earlier by the above methods).

Group or corporate bookings are not eligible for the Danubius Friends extra booking discount, but a Danubius Friends member is entitled to a reward package and upgrading in the program if the room is booked in the name of that member, provided that the Danubius Friends member's membership ID has been indicated as detailed above.

In case of group leisure or group corporate bookings, please send the names and membership IDs of the arriving guests to the contact person, at least 15 days prior to arrival.

8. Termination of membership

8.1. Members can request the cancellation of their Danubius Friends membership by sending an e-mail to info@danubiushotels.com.

8.2. Danubius Hotels Zrt. shall terminate or modify the Danubius Friends membership or membership level if a member:

a.) violates the provisions of these Terms and Conditions;
b.) requests the cancellation of his/her Danubius Friends membership by electronic mail from the e-mail address provided during registration,
c.) does not consent to the processing of his/her data;
d.) engages in offensive, abusive or hostile conduct against Danubius, one of the hotels, Danubius employees, a guest or any other third party acting in the interest of Danubius Hotels Zrt. or other circumstances make further cooperation with the member impossible, 
e.) makes unauthorised use of any of the benefits provided in these Terms and Conditions, including, but not limited to, where a member abuses the right to a benefit when making a reservation or using a benefit, or misleads Danubius Hotels Zrt. regarding his/her Danubius Friends membership.

If membership is terminated on the basis of any of the above, the level of discount already achieved will be cancelled together with the membership.

9. Relationship between Danubius Europoints loyalty membership program and the Danubius Friends Program

Danubius Friends Program is not the successor of the Danubius Europoints Program.

With the introduction of the new program, Danubius Hotels Zrt.'s former Europoints (DEP) loyalty membership program is/was fully phased out after a transitional period.

Membership in the former Danubius Europoints program does not automatically grant Danubius Friends membership. The Danubius Friends program requires a separate registration.

On 01.07.2025, Danubius Hotels Zrt. sent information via e-mail to Danubius Europoints members about the new loyalty program and the possibility of registration, provided that the e-mail address was entered by the member during the registration process.
