Location is fantastic, public transportation is right outside the door. In close walking distance to all amenities also.

Nice located and nice looking rooms. Relevant staff helps with everything. If you have car, dont park it to location that directed by hotel couse it s too expensive like 20 € a day. You can find cheaper than that like 7 € a day around great market. Check it from google maps.

Good: Location is great. Restaurant & front desk staff is stellar. Busy street but room was very quiet & peaceful. Bad: Air condition at apt 109 was very loud so we had to keep it off during sleeping time. it was very hot night so we felt a bit uncomfortable

The hotel is stately and charming, and perfectly located for exploring Budapest. I booked it because of the neighborhood, and because of the relatively low price of the room. The Astoria was closed during Covid, and it seems that it is trying to rebuild its clientele. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was inside, though to be fair, I stayed in the newer rooms in the annex. For price, style, and location, it's hard to beat the Astoria. Laszlo, the manager, at the front desk, could not have been more helpful. Fekete, the coffee shop a few steps away on Muzeum korut, is one of the best I've found in Budapest.

Good: I love the grand old hotels full of history. The Astoria did not disappoint. Great location, within walking distance of much of the city, or lots of public transportation from which to choose. My room was great. 5th floor with a balcony, so had a great view of the city. I loved sitting at my table watching the world go by below. The room was still quiet even though the streets are busy below. The gentleman at check in was helpful, and supplied me with a kettle and coffee cups, as I like to make my own brew in the AM. The room was big with everything I needed. Bed was huge and comfortable. Lots of pillows. Bonus: The historical elegant Astoria Cafe co-joining the hotel. I really enjoyed my stay at the Astoria and wasn't upset that I had to stay extra days since KLM kept cancelling my flight. :-) Bad: As is oftentimes the case with these grand old hotels, some of the fixtures or furnishing may be dated. I don't mind, as it's somewhat expected. One thing that did bug me at the Astoria was the odd art in the room and some of its decor that didn't make any sense. It seemed to be an Arabic theme of North Africa or similar? It would be so much more suitable and in sync if it was focused on the the amazing location of Budapest and this historical hotel.

Good: Great location and very comfortable room. I have stayed at so many hotels in North America and Europe, and Astoria hotel room has the best sound insulation. I can’t hear anyone around me and above me, though sometimes I can hear people in the corridor. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help. Good: The room was very pleasant. We had a big wardrobe for our clothes, a fridge for food we bought and a big bed, which Is perfect for married couples as it does not have two mattress, which we don't like. The bathroom was quite good. Without a window and a bathing tub as a shower, but it was very good. We did not book the breakfast and only added it on our last day. It was okay but nothing really special. The hotel was in a very good place. We took the bus from the airport on our arrival and it stopped directly in front of the hotel. It is located directly in the centre of the city I would say, you can easily walk everywhere you want in just a few minutes. So perfect for people who are there for a short city break. All in all, it was very convenient staying there. The staff was very nice and helpful! I cannot say something really negative about our stay.

Good: The location of the hotel is just excellent: right in the heart of the busy city. Although the hotel is in the city center, the rooms are very quiet and peaceful. In the nearby you can find restaurants of different type, playgrounds, bars, famous buildings and landmarks. We loved to take quick evening strolls just to to breath in the atmosphere of the city. and our daughter enjoyed to watch the traffic from the window, so everybody got his/her heart's desire fulfilled :) The hotel's restaurant is just beautiful and the dishes are tasty. Bad: In the description it was written that there is a pool in the hotel. When we asked about it, it turned out that it is not located in the hotel's building but you have to travel to a different place to use it. It was quite disillusing as we really counted on a good swim after dinner.

Good: The hotel provides a very special feeling - like you are visiting Budapest in the 20th century. This is exactly why I picked the hotel, and it met my expectations. This is of course a double edged sword, so be ready to sacrifice some of the commodities that the newer hotels provide in exchange for the feeling of thematic history around you. The room is absolutely enormous, long, wide and with a high cieling Bad: The hotel could be cleaner, there were some old stains on the walls and carpets. There were signs of damage on the wooden elements in the room (like the table and armchairs) but this is probably because they are authentical and old. However, the bathroom is clean and the sheets are clean and u can feel comfy. The TV is small in proportion to the gigantic room, u can barely see the TV while laying on bed, and there were no channels in English (only one news channel) but this can also be seen as a positive because it drives you away from the modern stuff and makes you feel like you are staying in Budapest in the 1900s

Good: Location was amazing. Close to metro and within walking distance around the city. Due to covid they were not doing daily housekeeping but when we needed anything we only needed to ask and it was done. There was no kettle initially but on request we were given one with cups for our morning cuppa! The bed was comfy and the room was quiet. The hotel had quite a retro feel about it, I almost expected Poirot to walk in! Bad: A lot of restaurants closed early, around 9pm and one evening we were a bit peckish after a night out and wanted a snack. Didn't expect cooked food or even a sandwich, but they couldn't offer any crisps or nuts either. Would of been so happy with a packet of crisps or bar of something even if it had been from a vending machine.

The hotel was clean, had friendly staff and we were able to store our luggage on our day of arrival since we arrived at 10am. We also stored our luggage when we checked out since the airport hotel check in wasn't until 3pm. Breakfast had a nice variety of items. The coffee machine made cappuccinos, lattes, and a variety of other coffee drinks. We had a balcony in our room and the room was clean and spacious. The location is great and the metro, trams and buses were just steps from the hotel. We would stay here again when visiting Budapest!

Good: Excellent facilities, rooms are large, excellent position, comfortable beds and pillows, clean sheets. Bad: The hotel was renovated last time about 20 years ago and the armchairs and carpets are shabby. The vacuum cleaning of the carpets was not done very well.

Good: Fantastic location next to metro station and bus from airport. Nice decor with a classic, grand feel to it. Very good breakfast with lots of choices. Staff were very friendly. Room was comfortable as was the bed. We would stay here again. Bad: Tea and coffee making facilities in room would be a welcome addition. There was no soap for washing hands in bathroom, I asked at reception and they gave me some but said it was their own private soap and that they didn’t provide soap for guests (which seemed a little odd as they provided shower gel and shampoo).

Good: The hotel is centrally located in the city, The hotel is close to the Jewish Quarter. all major means of transport pass through the main axis of the hotel including a metro station. European atmosphere. The reception staff is professional and polite and pleasant. We got a room upstairs, we were a couple + a 9 year old boy. Good and tasty breakfast. A wireless internet network is active throughout the hotel area in a good way. We booked a taxi last night to the airport through the hotel. Arrived on time and at an affordable price. Bad: The rooms are cleaned every three days.

Good: Location is the best in the city. Generally like the history and the lobby furniture etc Generally clean, quiet and comfortable room. Bad: The room design is not as nice as on the pictures. Breakfast is too expensive (15€/person (incl service charge) in Budapest is a rubbery).
