Good: Not the most modern building, the reception area is nice. There was air conditioning in our room which we liked a lot as it was pretty warm outside. Super close to the center with small shops and coffees and a short walk to the river. The place was very nice and accomodating to our dog, you even have a special “there is a pet in this room” do not disturb sign, so the cleaner does not come in without arranging a time with you upfront. The bathroom needs some renovation as it had an untidy feeling (broken tiles), and the room had the tiniest TV on this earth which was funny, but for one night we have absolutely no reason to complain. :-) Make sure you eat dinner or ice cream at Pallfy restaurant, they are great!

Very good hotel for its price. Rooms were nice and clean, air conditioned and with fridge and safe. Staff knows english well so there were no issues in communication at all. I have been reading other reviews and I think those people Are just spoilt because I havent had any bad experiance in this hotel at all. Good choice fór anyone who want to sere Gyor.

Good: Recepcionist was very friendly. There was no problem with english communication. Lot of smile.

Good: Location excellent, staff very polite and helpful and beds were clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family. Bad: Shower in bath was hard to get into and quite slippery for elderly or with knee problems.

Good: The accomodation is really amazing! 5 minutes by walk from the main train station and 3 minutes to the center of the city. Everything (supermarkets, bars and restaurants and also historical buildings) is sooo close. We had a super big room (bathroom, bedroom, living room) with balcony. The view was absolutely awesome! Our room was clean. The beds were soft but comfy. Breakfast was the same every day but delicious! I definitely recommend it! Bad: Just one small defect in this accomodation was a very smell toilet in our bathroom. :(

Good: Clean room, comfortable bed, secure parking if required however this was not free. Breakfast was really nice. Bad: there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the hotel room which I normally expect.

Sprung mattress, best sleep from a hotel bed in years of travelling. Location supurb, hotel spotless Really old building but well loved and maintained. Staff very attentive. Breakfast very good, choice was excellent, was able to cater for all tastes. Will be returning as soon as I'm back in Győr, Budapest.

Good: The bed, location and reasonably priced Bad: The bed was a sprung mattress type very comfortable. Lovely hotel, location perfect, staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are older decor but spotless. Well done to all the staff. I will be back. 10/10 star

Good: Excellent breakfast. Nice to be able to eat lunch at the hotel. Easy to get to all the parts of Gyor we wanted to see. Staff was very accommodating about a room change. See below. Bad: Our first room was terrible. Mold in the shower, other cleanliness problems. Staff tried to clean it but ended up moving us to a great room. The staff even handled well a large number of adolescents who were in the city for a tournament.

Good: Excellent breakfast, very convenient position in the city center. Cost effective.

Good: This is a nice, moderately-priced hotel in the centre of Gyor. It is within walking distance (200-300 meters) to the station and the old town. Bad: The breakfast was OK, but the room was very crowded. It was apparent that the staff were a bit overwhelmed, perhaps by a preceding large group. However, for the standard of the hotel the breakfast was satisfactory.

Good: Very close to the center, nice and clean. They let us leaving our bikes on a safe garage. Great breakfast!

Good: Excellent location: in the old town. Breakfast was good! Bad: Parking: the parking space before the hotel belongs to local authorities. If you are lucky enough to find a space, you will have to buy ticket(s). However, there is a big parking building right near the hotel.

Good: the BREAKFAST WAS FABULOUS! The bathtub was cool , though the evacuation of water was a bit slow. The room is really big and there is plenty of Space. The lifts are somehow tiny,but the location is very good , midway bus and train station and the hypercentrer , walkable. Bad: nothing; everything was pretty fien , really; maybe i may use somebody speaking Enlish at the restaurant . (English i snot german , mind the difference...;-) )

Good: Did not have breakfast but saw the elegant breakfast room. The bathroom has a full sized bathtub, which many hotels no longer offer. Staff very courteous and helpful. Location very convenient for transport (close to rail and bus terminals) and adjacent to the picturesque old city. Bad: I felt the room was a little too warm and there was no climate control (thermostat) in my room. Opening windows worked quite well, however, since it was a cool day.

Was there for a social event and dinner of a conference. Helpful staff and good food.

Always excellent, as the room we booked didn't have functioning A/C, we were given a free upgrade to a larger room, the room was clean, spacious and the staff were always willing to help.

Charming receptionist Andras did everything to give us agreat hotel stay. Great breakfast. Very clean room with view.

One of the best hotel I have ever stayed. View, location, staff, facilities, comfort and the style are excellent. Variety of foods with nice selections can accommodate any difficult person.

Is sauber

Good: Staff very friendly, the receptionist speaks English, German. Clean room, good shower. Very good breakfast for this type of hotel, with hot and cold food, cereals, cocoa and milk, dosing machine for Rauch juice and 2 coffee machines, different vegetables and fruits. In general, the hotel was above my expectations at the price as last minute deal. Bad: Quite a few minor things to write here: TV had not enough channels (aprox. 20-25), no view from the window, being blocked by a building.

The location is ideal, just at the start of the old town. Very diverse and delicious breakfast. The rooms were very comfortable.

Good: - Hotel was nice and staff too, we felt welcome. Check in was fast and they also promised to change if needed to pay the parking. They also explained parking is free till monday morning and we can pay it beforehand so we can sleep late. - ATM´s are close the hotel (but 2 of 3 didnt work then) - Cards are accepted - Room was clean and nice though we got twinroom instead doubleroom (sold out but we wanted to book a room here cos great price and location plus parking). - Beds were comfortable - Working AC - Bathroom with good shower and working toilet - Location was perfect for us to explore the City. Old Town is few steps away, there are a lot to see, gorgeous buildings, cafes /restaurants to eat/chill at, coloured bridge on night etc. If you are looking for a nice stay in Györ, esp. roadtrippers this is a good place for you. Bad: Parking. There were limited spots, luckily we saw someone leaving and got their parking place. If would have been there more than one nights and wanted to go by car, getting a place could have been difficult. Cos it was weekend parking was free till 8-9 Monday morning. We paid those few hours the night before and so we were able to sleep longer. Notice that the parking place is not only for hotel guests, it is pretty much public parking place, but right next to the hotel.

Very nice city....really wow! We just made a transit stop for 1 night...and visited the town at night, and was quite surprising what beautiful and how very animated the streets were. Wish we stayed more 😂 Definitely will visit in the future a couple of days!

Good: Perfect location with walking distance to old town, nice staff with minor language problems. Very good breakfast. We had family suite on 6th floor with plenty of space and nice views over city. Bad: It is not brand new Marriott to expect, also you need to be early to find free parking place - hotel has just 4, but in same area outside there is maybe 20 places for public paid parking.

Have big rooms, even are with 3 beds. Is very clean and the personal is super.

Everything was fine including the staff members whom are perfect and professional. Restaurant has the rudest staff members (young man and manager woman) on this planet. They are trying to overcharge you with bringing out to the same person both full fat coffee creamer and LACTOSE FREE milk (which we asked for instead of creamer or any other cows milk as they have no vegetable milk drink at all so people with special needs or allergies will have enormous trouble) and also they speak you out when you ask what kind of water they are using in their hot beverages if it is at least purified (considering of the brown water coming out of all the taps in the hotel) but they are using TAP WATER.

I had a top floor single room. The room had a balcony which was a nice surprise. The decor was a little tired but clean and comfortable. An excellent position for the centre, train station and the nearby spa

Right in the middle of town. The parking garage around the corner is cheap, so better there than getting up early to pay parking outside. Lovely town with hearty food in a boat restaurant on the river. Good, comfortable, clean room

We were pleasantly surprised with quality of the hotel.

Good: Excellent value, super staff, the location is central and within easy walking distance of restaurants, stores, local sites and transportation. Bad: The hotel is older, defintely has more dated look than some newer spots. It's always clean and neat regardless. Location Tip: Located right at the pedestrian/walking center of Gyor. Nearby restauratnts and shopping as wel as the thermal baths/pools, 1km to main mall We stay every year at the Raba hotel when visiting Gyor and have since 2008. The hotel is located right off a main road, and just a short walk (5 mins) from the train and bus stations. We book our room online and each year are greeted by smiling friendly staff. My husband speaks only English and they address him in English.They also speak fluent German and of course, Hungarian. Since we go in summer, and it is often quite hot, we always ask for a room with air conditioning. We are always accomodated, even when I also ask for a fan to be brought to the room too. Now you can book rooms with A/C online, which wasn't always the case. The breakfast ( which can be added during booking ) to the room, includes hot an cold food, plus the usual breads, pastries, jams, cereals and other things you'd expect to have. It's worth booking with room, and it's pretty hearty and open from 6am-10am each day. We always have a lovely time, the staff are helpful and kind, the location can't be beat, and the price is very reasonable. Free wifi throughout the hotel, in rooms and lobby.

Good: The hotel has a good location on the edge of the shopping area, easily found if arriving by bus or train. They carry an excellent selection of beverages and serve good food, an added bonus of rooms with air-con to ease those hot Hungarian summer days. Bad: The city commute starts early in the morning and can catch you out after a late night before, ear plugs might help the light sleeper.

Good: The hotel is located downtown, 2 minutes slow walk from the Railway Station and 5 minutes walk from the historical centre of the city. The room was comfortable and supplied with all what one could ask for, including air conditioning system. Staff provided city map. Comfortable double bed and good view from windows. Bad: I wish the hotel was a little bit more historical in terms of interiors. Supply of toiletries could be better.
