Good: We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel... The room was comfortable and nice view over the Duna river and Margaret island, the common areas are very clean and quite and I loved the design of the furniture. The staff is nice and welcoming and breakfast was good... Highly recommended :)

Good: The breakfast had great options. While the location was not central it had GREAT transport links which were easy to use with the travel card Gabor at concierge helped us setup on our phones. Bad: The rooms are slightly outdated but the hotel is in a period of renovation and once everything has been completed it will be amazing. As non-white people we got a lot of stares from Hotel patrons particularly when using the spa facilities but you just steel your nerves and get on....and maybe stare back 😳

Good: It was my first time in this hotel, but next time I will use it again and I already recommended it to my colleagues. In the beginning, I thought it was too far from the city center, but actually, it wasn't. The transport is good and regular and it cost only a relatively short walk to reach any point in the center. Even on busy mornings and even in the evenings. The personnel is great and very helpful. The restaurant is nice (and I really recommend the kitchen!) The swimming pool is very good; the sauna is as well. They provide free water with herbs and/or lemon which is very good after a sauna! The breakfast is fantastic and the people there were very nice (even when I was late once). The room was very comfortable. Excellent experience! Bad: Everything was great.

Good: Great location, nice view, polite and helpful receptionist. We paid 10€ for the parking lot. The spa was beyond expectations, available until 10 pm. The food at the restaurant was ok, but not much variety. The waiters were polite. I enjoyed the stay and I will definitely come back here next time. Bad: The lighting in the room could be improved.

Good: The pools are excellent, the room is ok, the beds large, the breakfast very good. Everything is clean, the lobby is modern. Close to the Danube, excellent for a walk. The parking is spacious. The staff kind. Bad: The bathroom needs a renovation, it is a little bit old fashioned and small. The location is not very nice when you approach the hotel building, it is in an urban area which is not very fancy. It would be much better if the main entrance would be from the other side, from Danube, because this side of the hotel is very nice :)

Good: Beautiful view. Clean. Breakfast and coffee was delicious. The lobby and bistro has a nice design. Burger in the bistro was also very good. We enjoyed our stay!! :) Bad: A little bit loud lift. The bathroom needs renowation.

We liked the location away from the center of the city, but accessible to everywhere. The health facilities and pools were exceptional and immaculate. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent and high quality. There was an abundance of food and something for everyone.

Good: Fabulous hotel, loved our stay there and are returning next month

The hotel is in a perfect location, equidistant from the center, Margarita Island and Varosliget (15-20 minute walk). View from the room to the Danube and the island. The use of the spa area is included in the very favorable price. The choice of food for breakfast is sufficient even for very picky guests. The hotel staff is very friendly and will help with any query.

Good: The spa was nice. The room was clean and well equipped. Both restaurant was superb, food, service prices were great. Bad: The sparking bath could have been warmer. The shower gel/shampoo was barely dripping, small individual packages would have been serving better. We had some trouble with the TV, but it was solved.

Good: The main reason why I keep coming to this hotel is the spa zone. Four pools with hot and cold water plus a very well equipped gym. Also lots of facilities for an extra cost, like treatments and beauty saloon and let's not forget the rich breakfast. Bad: No complaints

Good: Loved the breakfast. The lobby and the reception look modern, also the swimming pools are nice! Bad: I didn’t like the room so much. it had a very old decor,like in the 70’. but it was clean and quiet. Also the rooms with a view are a scam. We got a room with a small window and there was no impressive view, just some tree branches. big scam selling rooms with a good view when there is no such thing.

Good: We stayed with our dog for one night while travelling. The room was quite nice, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great with a huge buffet. Parking is available for a fee in front of the hotel in an open parking lot which looks very safe.

Good: What an absolute gem of a hotel. I read many reviews before making my booking and I thought it seemed to be a pretty good hotel. It really is amazing in my opinion - so bright, clean, welcoming. Our Danube view room was spacious and very well appointed. Breakfast was just superb - anything you could want was available. The only negative was the orange juice - it comes out a machine and is a little watery. The bar food also was very good with a decent selection. I have to mention the lovely Attila and Nikoletta who made us feel very special. also the very helpful young concierge who I am sorry to say I didn't get his name. All in all just a lovely experience and I will be very happy if I find its equal when I next travel. Bad: A lot of guests were disappointed at the long wait for the coffee machines at breakfast - I think it might be advisable to find a better method in order to avoid the queuing.

Thr breakfast was fresh, most of thr staff was so helpful and friendly Bad: The only thing was one of the receptionist called Peter,who messed up our room in the first place as we got someone else's room....but the shift manager came and sort it out everything very quickly. Hoeever when we wnt back down to ask him is our breakfast been transferred as well,h3 looked at me and told me,like you already in the more expensive room that you paid for...and I told him like,sorry but you made a mistale not me,and is not my fault....and he said yeah but you are in the more expensive room....

Good: This hotel has to be the most peaceful out of the centre of Budapest. You have the luxury of viewing the Danube. Bus 115 a few steps from the hotel that takes you right downtown to the Vaci Ut. Love the 3 thermal pools and the swimming pool. If you are looking for a place to relax and have down time, this is the place. The food was delicious, they have a dietician on board who works with the chefs to provide healthy meals.. We absolutely loved our stay. There is a park walkway just outside the hotel and you walk along the Danube to enjoy the cruise ships along the way. They have a huge patio with huge chairs to enjoy the day or night. I cannot say enough about this hotel on this page. Just go and enjoy. You will love it. Its an older hotel with modern day charm and well maintained. Bad: There was nothing we did not like about this hotel. Everything was great.

Grocery store and wonderful bakery, Trombitas, across street from hotel. Though Old Town is not near, the walk is doable and enjoyable, especially in the evenings.

This hotel is adorable!! We were slightly worried before coming due to some unkind reviews, but it was a great experience. Special thank you to Bence at the Yellow bistro for his great city and beer recommendations! The room was a good size but the bed was incredible and very large! The property was as expected, far enough away from the hustle and bustle with nice Spa facilities following a day of sightseeing. Public transport is easy to use to enable access in and out of the city, but you can always take a leisurely walk down the Danube which the hotel offers great views from. We would recommend this hotel for people who wish to explore what Budapest has to offer, but take a step away when it's time to unwind.

Good: It's a lovely spa hotel but on a budget. The hotel is a bit dated but they are currently updating it so it's nice to see they are investing in it. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is ideal to walk to Margaret island (30 mins) and has lots of buses connecting to the city centre and metro lines. The spa has lots of services including physio and it has three heated pools with temperatures ranging from 26-28 to 36 and 38(and a jacuzzi style bubble therapy). Bad: Incredible long wait to get checked in with only 4 other people in front of me and two reception desks open.. it was a good 30 mins before it was my turn. Not ideal when when you have a tired toddler begging you to lie down in the room. The menu in the bistro could be a bit better for vegetarians and vegans but it's alright, the kitchen is flexible to make adjustments and they have a separate kids menu (beware the portion is adult size!).

Good: Great choice of breakfast meals. Price acceptable at 15eur per person. Location is great as it's nearby to the river and you can just walk from there to the city. Swimming pool is great and not too busy and the water was perfect. Family bedroom size was great and we have the balcony with a great view. Bad: -The room was a bit smelly when we first opened the door. That was because of the carpet. Presumably the building is quite old. -If you have a room by the elevator, then you can sometimes hear the elevator. -The sofa bed where my girls slept was very noisy that everytime they moved, it made a lot of squicky noise. -The master bed as it was a large mattress was not so comfortable as it was leaning to the side. Found myself trying to lie down in the middle. -Check in was quite slow and we had to wait few mins till it was our turn. -Ordered fish&chips for dinner and found that the batter was not fully cooked and liquidy inside. But they changed it quick enough.

Good: This hotel is perfect! It is located right on the river side of the Danubio, close to bus stops that will take you to the city centre in 20 mins. The continental breakfast offers plenty of choices and the food is really fresh. The staff is always kind and ready to help. The spa is included in the room price, there are 3 pools and a sauna. The thermal pool at 38° is the best place to relax after a long day in the city. We will come back for sure! Bad: Everything was perfect. The only detail that could be mentioned is about the minibar fridge which is left empty. It would be nice to have at least a bottle of water, expecially if you are arriving late at night.

Good: The location is excellent , you can use public transport to get to the city center. The room was an OK size and the bed is very comfortable. Excellent spa facilities. Bad: There was hardly any soap or other toiletries in the bathroom and the shower door was a bit hard to open.

Good: our favorite hotel &spa in Budapest ! Bad: silence hours at spa during evening time 8-9 pm and morning time 7-9 am, meaning you are not allowed with kids during these hours. Didn’t know about this policy before.

Good: Budapest has a really strong "genius loci", the stay there was even nicer than we expected. The city is cleaner and probably safer than many other cities in central and western Europe. There is a lot of work going on everywhere to maintain and renovate the local monuments and generally impressive results of the sympathetic patriotism of the locals. From the balcony that was part of the room, there was a beautiful view of the Danube, Margit Island and the green hills beyond the river. The staff at the reception and elsewhere were friendly, and the breakfast very plentiful and good. The hotel has a fairly large swimming pool and two smaller pools with warmer water for relaxing. A minor attraction was the many raven-shaped birds (family Corvidae) that strolled the streets of Budapest, perhaps as a reminder of the former glory of King Matthias Hunyadi (called Corvinus).

Good: Amazing staff and energy around the hotel. The food is great and the desserts are awesome. The spa is amazing and there are lot of services included. The staff is open to most of things as long as you talk (extra towels, modified menus etc). Bad: The rooms with balcony are only separated by a thin door and bassically you can hear everything from your neightbours room. Even the smallest sounds and if you have a loud neightbour like mine then it will not be easy to sleep. The rooms without balcony are great so if you prefer a quiet place then get the normal room.

Good: Spa pool area pleasant. Balcony river view perfect. Good spot for public transport. Easy pick up for taxis too. Nice touch providing fruit water every day all day. Incredible multi lingual reception staff. Bad: It really was lovely but if we had to say anything negative…Arrived at 1am ish and shower was broken - so late we couldn’t be bothered to ask anyone. I bodged a fix myself that night by using a cotton bud! The tea and coffee was so minimal and never topped up.

Good: We loved the rooms as well as the hotel facilities such as the spa and the gym. Breakfasts were exceptional and we welcomed the open terrace. Great atmosphere for a morning coffee or an evening drink. Bad: The line at the check-in was pretty long and wasn't moving very much. We were maybe fourth in line and it took almost an hour to get a turn with two open front desks.

Good: I have stayed many times at Hotel Helia, incl. April 2022 and May 2022. Usually the service in both the restaurant and spa area is very good and helpful. However, this time in August 2022 the check-in procedure was awful, although check-out worked smooth! Hotel Helia has all of what I appreciate, a delightful swimming pool, hot water baths, sauna, water fitness, massage and much more. Very good buffet breakfast in the main restaurant, and also a good bistro restaurant with tasty dishes for snacks and simple meals, a comfortable terrace, walking areas just outside the hotel by the Danube with many chairs, benches and even reclining chairs at the quay to rest on if needed. Very good central location with excellent bus service just outside the hotel and a supermarket opposite the hotel. Coffee, tea and fridge in the room and more. Thankfully in hot August the air-condition worked fine and the room with balcony was perfect! Only about 45 minutes by taxi from hotel to airport, but the price did not seem right in Aug. 2022 from hotel to airport, 10000 incl tip in May 2022 and 15000 incl. tip in August 2022, both at noon on weekday. Bad: The check-in procedure was both in May 2022 and in August 2022 lengthy, tedious and extremely slow. It seems to me that the staff is having problems with their computer system. The search function seems to pose difficulties. This is – as I view it – not due to new privacy rules but more likely the computer system handling and coordination. For future guests I recommend that you carefully read your personal data on the print-out, which the hotel requires you to sign at check-in. Don’t sign blindfolded, do read and check that your name is spelt correctly and if other personal data is correct.

Good: Staff were very helpful and accommodating despite a very busy weekend due to Grand Prix. We had to make an urgent request for extra beds in our room as my daughters accomodation with her friends was double booked and the hotel agreed this at the last minute. They were helpful day and night with drinks and food in the Bistro. Lovely spa pool area (choice of three temperatures, open til 10pm). Good gym. Fresh fruit/ mint water in the lobby. Easy access to Danube for walks/runs and public transport to more ce tral areas. Convenient supermarket across the road. Rooms and linen clean Bad: Bathroom small, shower over bath. Location a bit out of centre so a long walk(about 30mins) and not much choice of restaurants near hotel. Try vak Varju

Good: Clean hotel, good and diversified breakfast, awesome spa, nice restaurant, close to Westend Mall and Nyugati Train Station and awesome view of the Danube from hotel room. Bad: Walls a bit thin, so if you have noisy guests in the room near to yours, you will hear them.
