Good: The staff was very pleasant, the pools were good. Nice breakfast. There is a luggage storage service - very convenient and the guy who took our belongings was very helpful and pleasant. Bad: We slept on the sixth and last floor. Early in the morning there were really loud bangs from above (I assume the roof area) and as if metal was falling. This happened many times and was even until we left the hotel that morning. It was very unpleasant and woke us up in the morning

Good: Great variety of buffet breakfast items including plenty veggie options as well to start the day and to eat it either inside the restaurant or outside on the patio. The spa, the pools, the rooftop patio, the lounge area with large windows, comfy furniture, qiuet background music and friendly helpful staff really contributed to the very pleasant experience. The room and sheets were clean, the bed comfy. Enjoyed my stay.

Good: We had a wonderful stay at Danubius Hotel Helia in Budapest. I was traveling with my child, and everything exceeded our expectations. The location is fantastic, right next to the Danube River, offering beautiful views and easy access to the city. The hotel itself is spotless — very clean and well maintained, which made us feel comfortable throughout our stay. Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty of delicious options that kept both me and my child happy every morning. The staff were outstanding: professional, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, which really made a difference. The spa and pools were another great experience. We enjoyed spending time there after exploring the city, and it was perfect for both relaxation and fun for my little one. Overall, Danubius Hotel Helia offers excellent value, a great location, and top-notch service. I highly recommend it for families as well as anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing stay in Budapest.

Good: I have been many times to this hotel, and will return because it matches my needs perfectly. The room is comfortable, the spa area is delightful, and both inside the hotel and outside on the terrace there are inviting, comfortable seating areas. Check-in and out was fast and easy. Hotel Helia has all of what I appreciate, a delightful swimming pool with many facilities, hot water pools, sauna, water fitness, massage, good service and much more. Very good buffet breakfast in the main restaurant, and also a good bistro restaurant with tasty dishes for snacks and simple meals, lovely walk terrain behind the hotel along the Danube with many chairs, benches and even reclining chairs at the quay to rest on if needed. Very good central location with excellent bus service just outside the hotel and a supermarket opposite the hotel. Coffee, tea and fridge in the room and more. Metro M3 is nearby and airport transportation is easy with airport bus 100 E to Kalvin Ter and bus 15 (from Kecskemeti utca to Drava utca) makes it very simple for airport travel from/to airport without climbing metro stairs or looking for elevator and only 3 minute walks! I find Google maps ideal for planning and finding where the bus stops are located. For those who are EU citizens and 65+ public transportation is free. The hotel is inviting to children and dogs, but only if they are well-behaved and the hotel requires this, which is good! Bad: Only minor issue was the card key, which sometimes opened easily, other times only after several tries! No problem, staff available for help, but perhaps the lock needs checking.

Good: Great location, next to the river, close enough to the center , you can go by foot, fully renovated, everything was brand new. They upgraded our room for free, and the room was exceptional. Spacey , 55 inch tv, king size bed, big bathroom, everything was perfect! The breakfast was exceptional. Variety and quality! Also the spa (hot pools ) were very nice. VFM for sure. If I visit again Budapest I will stay at Danubius Helia for sure. Bad: The floor it could be a little more clean.

We had a great stay at Danubius Helia Hotel Budapest. The check-in took about an hour, but it wasn’t a problem since we explored the city in the meantime. The view from our room was directly over the river, which was beautiful. The hotel provided free bathrobes with belts and slippers, which was a nice touch. Our room had a solid modern Samsung TV with plenty of international channels and absolutely no lags. All elevators worked perfectly, everything was clean, and there was no noise at all. Overall, very good value for money. The breakfast was nice as well ! I really recommend The Fitness Upgrade too! So we really enjoyed our stay here!

Good: The best hotel in budupest!!!. This is our third time at this hotel and we will definitely return to it on every trip to Budapest. The hotel design is outstanding and very pleasant to stay in. The pool and spa are excellent and very luxurious. The hotel is incredibly clean and well maintained. The breakfast is delicious and varied. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from a metro station and about 100 meters from a bus stop. The staff is allways friendly, smiling and provides wholehearted service. It seems that the hotel has thought of everything to provide a pleasant stay and Fulfill all of the hotel guest requests. Flavored water is served at the entrance to the hotel and there is a cold water and soda dispenser at the pool. We received a new bottle of water in our room every day. In short, a very high standard hotel and highly recommended. Bad: There are few TV channels, and most of them are not in English.

They didn't replenish tea or coffee, didn't clean cups or make the beds or hoover the floors and we were there for 5 days we had to ask for clean towels etc

We spent three nights at the Danubius Hotel Helia, and I can say that it is the best hotel that I have ever been in. Since we were a family of four, they gave us a superb apartment which apart from the wonderful view of the Danube River, it included two 46" TVs, a walk in wardrobe, gym facilities, and sauna along with a most convenient kitchenette, and all was modern and state of the art. We had a most spacious bathroom and the room also included an ensuite. The breakfast was very abundant and filling, and the Buffet in the evening was also very abundant and delicious. The staff was very friendly and ready to help us. i need to mention also the fabulous spa pools and ancillary facilities which were also great. There was nothing I can say that went wrong in this stay. Well done Danubius Hotel Helia. Would not hesitate to book at your hotel again.

Good: The food was lovely (good breakfast buffet and the bar menu was fantastic - I recommend the Club Sandwich)! Staff are very friendly and always willing to help you in anyway that will make your stay more comfortable! The hotel is really well located, right beside the Danube River with a view of Margaret Island. The streets around the hotel are quiet, clean and tree-lined, so the 10 minute walk into the busy area of the city is really pleasant. There is also a grocery store right across the street! The room was fabulous - balcony had an amazing view, the bed was comfortable, the shower was huge with good water pressure and the decor is really nicely done. Housekeeping services are great, everyday our bed was made and we were provided with fresh towels. The spa facilities are lovely - there are 4 pools to choose from, a sun deck on the roof, a 2-story gym, various treatment rooms where you can get massages (you must book at the spa reception for the wellness treatments). Bathrobes and slippers are provided in your room for use at the spa. An amazing way to unwind after a long day of exploring the streets of Budapest! I had an amazing experience as a guest at the Danubius Hotel Helia, and I stayed for a week. Thank you, and I can’t wait to return! My trip to Budapest was one of the best trips I have been on, and the Danubius Hotel Helia played a huge part in this! Bad: I have no negative comments, I truly had a great stay!

Good: The location is very nice, The room was clean and well equiped, The breakfast was good and The staff very nice Bad: At the breakfast we found loaves of bread that were frozen in The middle. We had a very noisy stay because of a window that couldn't be closed properly. We informed The staff twice but unfortunately nobody did anything about it and as a result, we couldn't rest properly. The parking at the property is very expensive from my Point of view, especially since you have no other parking options in the area

Outstanding 4 Star hotel. Last time we stayed at the N.Y Palace but I prefer this one for the following reasons - the reception staff are outstanding (Peter, Matt, Daniel, Victoria) - very professional, helpful, and pleasant as are all the staff!🙏🏻 Located in a beautiful, quiet, and safe neighbourhood. On the Danube and a 35 min walk to Margaret Island. 5 min walk from the Metro - 4 stops and you are in the centre of Budapest. The hotel is modern & cheerfully decorated, spacious yet cozy. Room - fabulous and v. quiet. Spa - very relaxing. Also took an exercise class & yoga. Breakfast- plenty to choose from. Bar menu- very good. Try the season pea soup (delicious + dumplings!). Thank you for everything ❤️

Good: Buffet Staff! I just want to give a huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to the canteen and buffet team at Danubius Hotel Budapest. Your dedication, warmth, and incredible food made our stay unforgettable. Every breakfast and dinner felt like a feast — not just because of the variety and quality of the food, but because of the care and attention you clearly put into every detail. Everything was so delicious that even when we said we’d “just have a coffee,” we always ended up eating more because we simply couldn’t resist! From the fresh ingredients to the comforting local dishes and the beautifully presented buffets, everything was top-notch. The atmosphere was always welcoming, and the staff were consistently kind, smiling, and attentive. It really added to the joy of our trip. Thank you for your hard work and for starting and ending our days with such wonderful meals. You're a huge part of what makes this hotel so special. Keep doing what you do — it truly makes a difference!

We had a great stay at Danubius Hotel Helia. The breakfast and meals were excellent — lots of variety and everything was delicious. The atmosphere of the hotel is really nice, very pleasant and relaxing. The rooms are spotless, modern, and newly designed, which we really appreciated. The view of the Danube River from the room was beautiful! On the downside, the balcony wasn’t as clean as we expected, as it was covered with spider webs. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and it was a big plus that even though we arrived early, they allowed us to leave our luggage and use the hotel’s common areas while waiting for check-in. Overall, a great experience!

Good: The breakfast was perfect, especially on Sunday—pleasant to enjoy a glass of Hungarian sparkling wine. The spa was a nice bonus after a hot day of walking. Very friendly staff, convenient location and affordable parking. Extra plus: locked parking for bicycles if you’re traveling with one.👍

This is a mass market hotel, mainly used by tour groups and airline staff etc. There are 4 pools (very crowded) and the water is hot (38 degrees) and spa with medical services and therapy, river view. We booked the junior suite, and the bed was wonderful and very comfortable (hard matress). Breakfast was extremely crowded, most foods catered for, as expected for a 4 star hotel. Checkout is 11 am. Please bear this in mind, as some hotels have late checkout, but not this one. We were chased from the room with phone calls, knocks on the door, etc. You can open the windows. This is important to mention, as it is nolonger standard in some modern hotels.

Good: Very clean and good location. Room and bathroom was good size and immaculate. Bad: Air con working though I would have rather had it colder as outside between 30/36 degrees daytime. Dinner was not to my liking, meat was dried up and too salty, though breakfast is superb though you pay for coffee, very strange in a 4 star hotel.

Good: Comfy bed. 4 pools. Great treatment options and price Bad: 2 chefs on the omelette station clearly had a problem with black people. The pool area and outside hotel could do with fresh coat of paint
